WVU with its biggest win in the Neal Brown era, beating VPI 27-21. WVU held a 27-7 lead and had to stop the Hokies inside their 5 at the end of the game to hold on after a horrible interception on a screen pass with the clock running down.

Huge for WVU, as we play Oklahoma next week and could have easily been looking at 1-3 after next Saturday. I didn’t think Brown was on the hot seat, despite being right around .500 in year 3 (Holgorson had gotten so lazy with recruiting, fans pretty well accepted that the roster required a total rebuild), but blowing a 20-point lead to a big rival, at home, and then making the call for a risky pass when they should have been milking the clock would have been a bad look.

I’m not sure if we are a little better than I expected (last week our offensive line couldn’t get any push on Long Island U. despite winning 66-0) or VPI is just average, but I’ll take it. Looking forward to getting a new QB next year.
