Game 37: TOR 7 - DET 1
McGowan pitches a CG 5 hitter for Toronto, allowing just an RBI double to Miggy for his only damage, while Galarraa gives up 4 ER in 5 IP to basically put this one over before it started. Not good.
Game 38: TOR 9 - DET 8
We were down 3 in the 9th when Grandy hit a 2 run HR, followed by a Cabrera triple to center after Wells missed a diving catch. But with 1 out and a runner on third both Dukes and Inge popped up on the infield to shut us down. Even though we had 5 HR we couldn't overcome a 7 run 2nd by the Jays and we fall 9-8.
Game 39: DET 6 - CHW 4
Porcello picks us up with a nice 6.2 IP, 2 ER game. The pen gives up 2 late but Capps comes in to close it out in the 9th for the 6-4 win. On offense we had a HR and 4 RBI from Miggy, plus RBI from Inge and Thames.
Game 40: DET 7 - CHW 4
Bonderman was obscene tonight, going 8.1, giving up 3 ER on 7 hits and striking out 13 for his 4th win of the season. Meanwhile Dukes hits a 3 run HR, and Grandy and Miggy amongst others drive runs in and we get our second in a row vs the hated Sox.
Game 41: DET 14 - CHW 7
Each team pounds out 17 hits, but thankfully ours counted the most, as we score all 14 between the 5th and 7th. Miggy had a HR and 2 RBI, Laird had a HR and 4 RBI, as did Santiago and Dukes added his own HR and 2 RBI and we get a huge win on a night where Verlander gave up 4 ER in 4 IP on 9 hits.
Game 42: DET 4 - PIT 0
Galarraga pitches 8 innings of 6 hit ball, K'ing 6 and Thames has a 2 run HR to basically give us all the offense we would need. A nice win to add to our modest 4 game streak.
