South Forsyth - Toys for Tots Invite - RESULTS

Bailey - The whole reason for Bailey swimming this meet was so she could do the 100 fly while at least semi-tapered, but for some strange reason she didn't swim the fly at all. The team didn't get home from this meet until well after midnight, and each of the swimmers only competed in 1 event, rather than the normal 2. The new coach for South has done a nice job of making the season fun, but she is a nightmare when it comes to organization, and errors like these are only a small part of the issue.

Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay - B Team - - Bailey swam the fly leg in a strong 28.75 split. The relay team finished 4th overall, the top B team in the meet, and better than 11 other A teams.

Girls 100 Yard Free - This was such a waste of time. Bailey isn't going to be a factor in the 100 Free at 5' 2"+, even tapered I don't think she'd be able to touch the state cut in this event. There are just to many girls that are sprint free swimmers. She did manage to go 1:00.17, which is far from a personal best, but it appears that it is a high school best.

Bear

Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay - B Team - Bear swam on the B medley relay in the fly leg, which is absurd. Bear should be on the Free leg of the A relay, and the guy swimming the Free leg should be on the back. Bear posted a pedestrian 26 second split. The team finished 5th and was the top B team in the meet.

Boys 200 Yard Free - Bear posted a 1:51.55, which is pretty good for a non-tapered meet. In fact, it is only about 1 second off his high school best time, which comes from the state meet last year, which was a drop taper event.

Boys 200 Yard Free Relay - A Team - Bear posted the fastest split in the relay with a 23.43. The team finished 2nd, about 2 seconds behind the winners.

Boys 400 Yard Free Relay - A Team - Bear had by far the fastest split here with a 51.39 to open the race. That's only .35 off of his personal best (which is a bit misleading because he never swims this event tapered). By the end of that opening 100, Bear had given the team a 6+ second lead on the second place team. The rest of the relay was able to cruise home for the event win.
