I don't see how picking a qb that will sit on the bench for two years was a better way of spending a top tier draft pick, than picking a high ceiling tight end that will help the team now and in the future. Picking a qb would have been a white flag on the season. Picking a weapon to help some with the loss of a weapon you know is coming makes infinitely more sense.
Julio was leaving regardless. The choice was to either purposely tank this season, or try to give a new coach a chance to turn things around. They chose the later.
