Steve Victory JOURNAL – 2021-22 Recruiting
Even Coach Victory is surprised to see his first recruiting class at N.C. State deemed the fourth best in the nation by the folks at .400 Sports. Wow!
Here’s the lowdown on the Pack’s Fab Four:
Andre Baker: The 6-4 SG out of Silver Spring, Maryland was listed as the 13th best player in the nation. He swished about 30 ppg as a high school senior
Jon Henry: the 6-6 PF from Galesburg, Ill., had great numbers for his size: 28 ppg, 9 rpg, 85 percent FT shooter.
Jeff Bailey: the 6-11 C out of Canton, Mass., should finally provide some size to a team with very few guys over 6-7. He’s more of a project, and given his excellent potential, likely will redshirt a season.
Brandon Collins: a 6-10 C from Arlington, Mass, will probably play some as a frosh. He averaged 18 ppg, 11.5 rpg in his final high school season. The good news about all four: each will probably stay all four years… Baker may jump to the NBA if he has early success, but the other three guys seem like solid college players…
OK, off to 2022-23 – Steve Victory’s 20th season as a head coach!! And Charles Barkley’s second at Alabama...
