1 January, 1556 – Where do I send my next colonists? I had intended on filling out Turks Island, since there are natives here, and I need to get it fully colonized. However, the gold province of Santana beckons. In this game, gold nets you a lot of ducats, but will increase your inflation (see real life example of Spain). The bigger and better your economy, the more you can handle a gold province.
On the other hand, Turks Island is a good province with a good strategic position.
After debate, I decide that if someone had found Santana, they would have colonized Santana. Let’s focus on Turks Island for now. If I lose Santana, there are still plenty of wealthy provinces with valuable resources.
With colonization, our chance of success to expand Turks Islands has risen to around 81 percent.
