23 July, 1563 – Something really, really weird just happened, something I never planned and didn’t know could happen without me planning it. We just became the Papal Controller.
As a result, we get the following:
-20% stability cost
+1 diplomat annually
Reputation (badboy) -0.25 (annually? Once?)
Prestige +1 (again, annually, once?)
We controlled two cardinals – one in Malta and one in Napoli. No one else controlled more than one. Ergo, we are the new Papal Controller.

26 August, 1564 – Turks Islands expands. The natives there join the colony. It is now a full city
Turks Islands – This Lombard Catholic province is a group of islands clustered in the Atlantic. The main export for the 2037 people here is cotton. They make about 19.89 ducats annually, with almost all of that coming from production. Cotton has a high trade value right now.
