Summer League - County Team
The county team has been announced and unfortunately, Brett just misses getting in, as 2 of the 3 kids that I mentioned in the county results posts elected to skip the state meet, but the kid that finished 1 spot in front of Brett is going.
Bailey will swim the fly (we knew that already), and she will also swim the fly leg in the A Medley Relay. Since 2007 this relay is the 3rd fastest the county has fielded. She unfortunately didn't get into a Free Relay as all the girls that beat her in the 25 free elected to swim...
Bear will swim the fly as well at state. He also gets the benefit of moving up to the B Medley Relay (the 2nd place finisher at county isn't going to state), so his chances of medalling just improved dramatically. His relay is the 8th fastest since 2007, trailing 2 other B teams and faster than the '08 A team. Bear also snuck into the C Free Relay. Interestingly, his C team is the second best the county has fielded since 2007, and actually with Bear's slip and another child's poor swim (based on seed time)...this team could be as fast as the B team...we'll see, but I don't expect the Free Relay to make the medal round.
