Group B, Round 6, Game 1

Philadelphia (3-2, +4, 2nd) at Houston (1-4, -13, 6th)

Starting Pitchers

Joe Blanton (PHI) vs. Henry Sosa (HOU)

Game Recap

Philadelphia- 14, Houston- 10 -- A football score in this one as the teams combined for 24 runs and 34 hits. Neither starting pitcher made it through the 5th, and lots of bullpen guys will be required to rest at least 1 game. Erik Kratz led Philadelphia with a 5-5 game, including 3 doubles, a triple, a 4 RBIs. Brett Wallace was 4-5 for Houston with a double and 3 RBIs. With 2 outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th, Antonio Bastardo came in to strike out pinch hitter Matt Downs to record a save for Philadelphia and preserve the win. Bad news for the Phillies as Ryan Howard went down with an injury and will be out an undisclosed time (I'm revamping injuries again, more on that later as I have 7 rounds completed but just now getting caught up on the reporting).

Toronto- 10, Detroit- 7 -- Another wild one in Group B, as again neither starting pitcher got through the 5th. Toronto scored 4 in the 4th and 5 in the 5th to put it away early.
