Group D, Round 7, Game 1

Pittsburgh (2-4, -8, 5th) at Texas (4-2, +15, 2nd)

Starting Pitchers

Jeff Locke (PIT) vs. C.J. Wilson (TEX)

Game Recap

Texas- 9, Pittsburgh- 1 -- 2 was the magic number for the Rangers in this one, as they scored 2 runs in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th innings. Mike Napoli, Josh Hamilton, and Andres Blanco all homered for Texas. Andrew McCutchen had the lone RBI for Pittsburgh, surprisingly opening the scoring with an RBI double in the top of the 1st. Despite the victories, Texas had a lot of losses on the field. Taylor Teagarden used an illegal bat and was called out, he will be suspended for 5 games. Nelson Cruz failed a drug test after the game, but the dice were kind to him as he will only be suspended 2 games. Michael Young was injured, but his injury rating is so high that he won't have to miss any additional games (more on that later, as I'll cover the new injury/suspension rules after I finish posting on Round 7).

WP: C.J. Wilson
LP: Jeff Locke

Group D, Round 7, Game 2

Colorado (3-3, -8, 4th) at Baltimore (1-5, -13, 6th)

Starting Pitchers

Kevin Millwood (COL) vs. Mitch Atkins (BAL)

Game Recap

Colorado- 6, Baltimore- 3 -- 1 inning of scoring was all the Rockies needed, as they sent 12 men to the plate in the top of the 1st, scoring all 6 of their runs on nothing but singles. Impressive! Atkins was relieved after the 1st inning, and the Baltimore bullpen was outstanding, not giving up another run. Unfortunately, the offense couldn't get going. Despite a Vladimir Guerrero 2 run homer in the 5th, nothing else came offensively for the Orioles. Colorado had 2 injuries in the game, as starting pitcher Kevin Millwood left in the 4th due to injury, and Hector Gomez was also injured.

LP: Mitch Atkins

Group D, Round 7, Game 3

Cleveland (5-1, +14, 1st) at Washington (3-3, 0, 3rd)

Starting Pitchers

Mitch Talbot (CLE) vs. Tom Milone (WAS)

Game Recap

Cleveland- 10, Washington- 4 -- The Indians bats exploded in the middle inning, as they scored 8 of their 10 runs in the 4th and 5th innings, respectively. Asdrubal Cabrera and Kosuke Fukudome each had 3 RBIs. The Nats used 7 pitchers in this one. More bad news for Washington, as Ian Desmond went down with an injury.

WP: Mitch Talbot
LP: Tom Milone

Texas (5-2, +23)
Colorado (4-3, -5)
