Jon Henry’s return helps State big time. He scores 18 points in the opener against Maryland, and the Pack wins 65-60. Nice!
Henry scores 20 and rips down 14 rebounds in the semifinals, but that isn’t enough to beat Duke. The dumb Devils slip past 68-64. Then, the Dookies beat Wake for the ACC crown. Uggg! (I hate Duke, in case you can't tell)...
The ACC gets two #1 seeds for the NCT tournament. State isn’t one of them obviously. Duke is #1 in the South. Wake is #1 in the West. The Pack will go as a #7 in the East Region.
Alabama, the year they won the NCT under Victory, started its tournament run in a similar spot. This year, Bama is a #7 seed as well – in the ACT. Barkley’s Crimson Tide finished the regular season and SEC tournament with a 15-15 overall record. The folks in Tuscaloosa are not happy to say the least…
