Okay, first stage of free agency, and two HUGE signings for us.
First...we HAD to re-up with
LB Jermaine Tanner. Odd blunder put him on the bench in his penultimate contract year, meaning I couldn't extend him... but he's back with us for 4 more seasons. Starting caliber player, great chem leader... essential piece of the puzzle. Whew. (Massively overpaid, though)
And... my musing earlier about pass rusher was about the top such guy on the market,
DE DeAndre Banks. 5th year guy with 90+ PRTech - let's just say that on our team, he will be expected to blow right past the 6-7 sacks per season clip he established in Jacksonville. Nobody else even bid on him, so I guess I overpaid, but he was the one guy good enough to make me say goodbye to one or two of my veteran cohesion types, in the name of gaining in talent.
So... two fat contracts, and that basically defines my offseason for this year. We will be filling in pieces here and there as we can, but we're basically done with big moves.
