Open Wheel racing is dead, or at least in hybernation. That Long Beach Grand Prix was horrible, the racers were horrible, the history was shot and destroyed.

As much as all the "true" racing enthusiasts like to bash Tony George, they forgot one thing. The Indianapolis 500 made open wheel racing.

Like I've said, until a re-unification or one of the leagues completely folding, open wheel racing in America will continue to be dead.

We can pray and wish for the IRL to fold at this point all we want, but the reality now is that the best chance open wheel racing had was when CART was on the ropes.

That chance was blown, and the re-unification process will be drug out until absolutely nobody cares anymore.
