In a couple of pre-show incidents,
--Troy Graham caught heat with the rest of the locker room by pulling a tasteless rib backstage. Sources say a gerbil was involved.

--The other involved Terry Taylor and Lance Russell. They bonded backstage, having discovered a shared love of classic 80’s power ballads, supposedly including those of Foreigner and Journey.

Pre Show Match
--The Gibson Brothers def. Troy Graham and Wayne Farris in 6:08 by pinfall when Robert Gibson rocker dropped Farris. (C, 65)

--Junkyard Dog def. Buddy Landel in 9:05 by pinfall following the Thump. (B-, 76) Landel makes his CWA debut. After the match, JYD hypes himself up and thanks the fans in Hattiesburg for coming out tonight. (B, 82)

--Lance Russell hypes the main event, a six-man tag match with Jerry Lawler, Ricky Morton, and Steve Williams facing Randy Savage, Manny Fernandez, and Norvell Austin. (C, 60)

--Jim Cornette comes out to be interviewed by Russell. He hypes the “greatest tag team in the world, the Midnight Express” and Manny’s opportunity at Jerry Lawler. (B, 79) The Midnight Express comes out and tells the Fabulous Ones they are coming for their Southern Tag titles. (C+, 68)

NWA Mid-America Title Match
--Wendell Cooley def. Rick Rude w/Jimmy Hart by DQ in 7:53 after King Kong Bundy interfered on Rude’s behalf after Cooley seemingly had the match won after a Wildcat Slam. (C+, 66) Cooley makes his 4th defense of the Mid-America title. After the match, Bundy and Rude continue their assault on Cooley until Steve Williams runs out to make the save. He warns Bundy to pick on people his own size. (C, 64)

--Jimmy Hart makes his way out to be interviewed by Lance Russell. He warns Dr. Death that Bundy is the most dangerous man in the promotion and will flatten him. He challenges Williams to a match at WrestleBowl. (C+, 68)

--Bobby Eaton and Koko Ware come out and hype their upcoming match with the Moondogs. (C, 64)

--Bobby Eaton and Koko Ware def. The Moondogs w/Jimmy Hart in 10:09 by pinfall after Eaton’s Alabama Jam with Moondog Spot’s bone on Moondog Rex’s throat. (B-, 76)
