I must disagree. The goal of a fake reveal is to accomplish a goal which otherwise you could not accomplish, often for devious means.
Poli's goal with the reveal was to lynch Hoops without revealing as the seer. He failed...at both. Hoops was not lynched and Poli was night killed for being the seer. Worst fake reveal ever.
