A very good 1st half in which Lloyd dominated down low, Czepil shot well from the outside, and Newton had his finest shooting half of his career. We are up 43-28 as a result. Newton is the player of the half with 12 points on 5 of 8 shooting including 2 of 3 from behind the arc. Czepil has 8 as does Lloyd.

That margin carried us through the 2nd half as our 3 stars from the first half played big in the 2nd half. We won 75-63. Newton won player of the game! The freshman finished with 23 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, and 1 steal. He shot 9 of 19, 3 of 8, and 2 of 2.

Lloyd added 18 points, 8 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block. He shot 8 of 11. Czepil had 12 points on 4 of 9 shooting. Bakari Lewis had 6 points and 7 assists while Boyce had 9 points and 8 boards.

We host 3-9 McNeese State and beat them 61-57. Newton with a bad game as he has 0 points and 6 boards. He shot 0 of 6. Czepil was our leading scorer with 12 points on 4 of 10 shooting. Lloyd ha 10 points and 7 boards.

We are now 10-3.

Our next game is at 5-8 Texas State. They are a weak defensive team, but they have a good shooting team. They are also tough interiorly with good rebounding compared to ours.
