They haven't said much about what's new, perhaps partly because they were having some internet troubles at the convention in Cologne.
One thing I did see mentioned
here is that each province will have 'baron' characters or somesuch, so that could be interesting. They'll also be adding a version of the personal ambitions from Rome: Vae Victus. That should make things fun.

I think they'll likely expand it somewhat but I wouldn't expect it too far into asia. In Persia, Arabia and Africa a bit yeah, but I doubt we'll be seeing Asia proper much. It's still going to be centered around Christian nobility, after all.
