As we expected, Avery Sullivan announces he'll forgo his final season of college eligibility to enter the pro draft.

He'll be joined by the two other superb junior big men from the Big East: Georgetown's Jimmy Cahoon and West Virginia's Chris Evan.

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Jimmy Cahoon and Avery Sullivan compete in the Big East for the last three seasons. Jimmy is a worthy National Player of the Year, and I'm very pleased to see Avery earn second team honors behind him.

I was hoping Corey Hicks would make All-American, too. His career arc, which we'll look at more closely in his Senior Tribute, is especially pleasing.

Asher Wise lived up to the hype. You'll read more about him later, too.

Such a well-deserved honor for Corey Hicks. I didn't recruit him; I inherited him, but I've coached him all the way through so I feel like he's "mine."

And look at Lowell Welter, joining Sully on the All-Big East second team! Lowell is often overshadowed by flashier stars, but he's a very, very efficient player. Low-Key isn't a bad nickname for him.

J.R. Bunch is a fine choice for Big East Freshman of the Year. I've always liked J.R. He was very high on my "wish list" when I was recruiting his high school class, but he was a lock for Providence from the start. I figured either he or Asher Wise would end up as the FotY. Like I said, Asher lived up to the hype. He started every game for us, played almost 1100 minutes, and adjusted to not always being the most talented player on the court.

The more Justice Stafford played, the better he got. He's got a very, very bright future ahead of him if he keeps developing.
