The 2027 NFL Amateur Draft
Miami drafts first and at the 1.1 spot they take ILB Duane Hammond
The 1.31 pick arrives. Who am I looking at?
Here is what I need:
Backups:
OT backup
OG Backup
NT backup
1 new LB backup ish
CB backup
S backup
Roster options:
Backup LB better than Gleason
Backup CB better than Cote
Backup TE to replace a dropping Fyie
Studs:
DE
OT
OG
Who is available?
OT Bucky Hicks – No interview, 2nd best OT in the draft
OT Carlton Crichton – Underrated
OT Ronald Lynn – Hard to Read
OG Oliver Brewer – Very Underrated
OG Luis Hanks – I like his bars
TE Brock Lindquist – Looks studly
DE Al Hickey – No interview
DT Toby Franklin – No interview
SLB Francisco Rodman – No Interview
ILB Brent Sampson – No interview
BAP are Franklin and Lindquist and a C named Benjamin Loveless.
Could I take Franklin and turn him into a DE?
I like TE Lindquist because this is a TE poor TE talent league and getting two would be great. I could run them both in many settings. And then I could let Derr go and keep Lindquist if he worked out. I like Franklin because he appears from here to be the BAP and if I need a DT, I’d grab him. Or if Fontaine was dropping or unsignable or something else. But he is 27 year old stud.
So what do I do and where do I go?
I could draft Franklin. But what else?
OT Hicks? I thought he’d be gone and I didn’t interview him. Or Luis Hanks who looks great? Let’s do Hanks as OG in Banks’ last year is more of a need than OT and he has better combines and looks to be a good growth target like my OT Last year
2.31
RT Gerald O’Neill?
TE Lindquist is still on the board.
O Neill is the last best OT on the board. I take him as he looks swank.
3.31
Lindquist is gone but TE Darryl Kirwan? I do need a replacement for Fyie and he looks really really strong in the bars. I grab Kirwan.
4.31
I like DE Sammie Doran who seems to have fallen as well as DE Jalen Bullock. I grab the better pass rusher which is Bullock
5.31
RDT Myles Trujillo is the best DT on the board and we need one, so I grab him.
6.31
LB Darien Wheeler has fallen and looks nice. Very BAP with good bars
7.31
FS Micah Shonek – The best S on the board. This is a flyer. But he has better combines than his bars,
Rookie Lookie #1
1.31 – OG Luis Hanks, New Mexico, 32/64
2.31 – OT Gerald O’neill , Notre Dame, 24/69
3.31 – TE Darryl Kirwan, Kentucky, 34/66
4.31 – DE Jalen Bullock, California, 37/68
5.31 – DT Myles Trujillo, Purdue, 27/47
6.31 – OLB Darien Wheeler, Yale, 31/58
7.31 – S Micah Shonek, Oregon State, 16/45
Alright! That’s four players with pots in the 60s, and if that holds, that was a solid end of the round draft. IF it holds….
