It is indeed ... and it almost worries me that you knew that
I watched Eric do things on a football field in 8th grade that were just shocking. (I think I may have recounted those in some thread or another at the time). He was at such a different level than the 7th-8th grade competition that he literally ended up being told not to score, resorting to running the width of the field one evening once he got to the 20 or so.
Last year was a lost season for him, a football novice with reluctant parents, he sat out until just after camp & then (with considerable conversation amongst players & coaches) was allowed to join the team. He never really caught up from being out of the loop for so long.
This year there was apparently more communication & a plan, and he looks like a different guy vs last year. Still green as hell, but at this level speed like his isn't easy to find ... or match.
