Event: Tensions Along the Trebizond Border
Borders are organic things, changing and mutating with the seasons, and with the fortunes of the latest conqueror passing by. Historians will, perhaps, say that the events that transpired in Trebizond in that year of our lord 1605, were inevitable. 'As Trebizond continued to flourish under the benevolent rule of Georgia, the yokels on the other side of the border were bound to get jealous.' Perhaps they will be less fair to us. Either way, the tensions in Trebizond have given a rival neighbor a Casus Belli against us.

Galleys were light and small, and it was very difficult to mount cannons on them. The Galleass was a larger vessel capable of carrying a broadside of cannons like a man-of-war. To compensate for this extra weight, Galleass would be equipped with an additional sail.

King Luarsab Has Died!
Oh how the reign of some kings may be short lived. After ascending to throne after coming of age in December 1603, just over five years later, King Luarsab has died! He will be known for bringing stability through the Turkish region that his father Giorgi VIII had begun to conquer, but for little else.
