In my French dynasty I tried expanding similarly to you, but pretty much the entire map turned on me because they were threatened, so I had Britain with a lot of the northern provinces attacking me on one front and Spain / Portugal attacking me on the other front. It was horrible. Glad you have the diplomatic strength to keep it together!

It certainly helps when all of the Islamic nations hate each other!
