Free agency opens - for us not with a bang, but a whimper. Three offers to RFAs all get rejected, and nobody signs. I am not targeting any of the serious big money guys out there - this is basically a maintenance year overall.
I have dealt T Jerry Picchietti for a 4th round pick this year. Young
Roy Brennan showed me enough in his rookie year to believe he's a long term asset for us. Picchietti was on that list, but a chemistry shift worked against him, at least short term. For our OL, I have basically gone with "good enough" to fill in around the couple guys who are early/anchor caliber players, and to keep them a long time for cohesion and chemistry.
