A heated contest in Columbus with the Crew getting the worst of it. A very card-happy ref shows five yellows to the Crew to one for the Wiz. Worse, the Crew dominated the run of play, but KC made the most of their chances to pick up the win.

21' (KC): A corner is flicked on for a volley from 10 yards by Mike Sorber and he smashes it home - GOAL!

49' (CBS): Pete Marino makes a clever run and shoots from the edge of the area, but the shot is closed down by the defence.
74' (CBS): A beautifully weighted pass leaves Brian McBride through on goal. McBride slots the ball into the corner of the net, beating the oncoming Lagerway - GOAL!
77' (CBS): Pete Marino's free kick from 30 yards curls just wide of the post.
80' (KC): A great ball comes in from the bye-line, giving Vitalis Takawira a close range header. The powerful header gives Bo Oshoniyi no chance - GOAL!
