Yes and no though.
There's a significant perception that this is in response to overall overwrought liberalism. It's unfair to blame JB for that, I agree. (He's probably relieved he doesn't have to read some of the tongue-twisters on reading day but that's about the extent of his care would be my guess)
Libs in general however, well, they are part of the segment that closely with this sort of of foolishness. I can't imagine anyone believing this wasn't undertaken without external pressure being applied.
