best signing to-date would probably have to be Kim Kallstrom before the season began last year - $7.5m, played 39 games at a 6.96 rating.

Also managed to pry Simon Vukcevic away from Sporting - he's the kind of dynamic well-rounded midfielder I like. Bought Paolucci back outright to provide cover for ageing Trezeguet and Del Piero (speed dropping) up front. Looking forward to getting Criscito back after this year (Genoa won't sell him like at all right now). Also picked up two young Brazillians - Zezinho (AMC) and Nubio (ST) who are both 18 and are off on loan this year, but should be long-term key pieces. Nubio in particular is 18 and has 4 goals in 4 starts for Cagliari in Serie B.
