USC went to Arizona and handed the Wildcats their first loss, 48-28. A scan of the boxscore shows the leading rusher as J. Sims from Arizona with 101 yards. Did Tonnemaker have his first sub-100 yard game of his career? This requires a look at the box score - he didn't play! Looks like grades have taken him down, as he is suspended. USC is lucky they didn't have to face the phenom ... darn it.

Oregon went on the road and won 30-27 against Cal, our next opponent. Cal QB Victor Glover had 350 yards and 3 TDs in the loss, but struggled with his accuracy (20-43).

Here are the updated Pac 10 standings:
1. USC 4-1
2. Arizona 4-1
3. Oregon 3-1
4. Washington State 3-2
5. UCLA 3-2
6. Oregon State 2-2
7. California 1-3
8. Stanford 1-3
9. Washington 1-4
10. Arizona State 1-4

Nationally, we are down to five undefeated teams. And they hold the top five spots in the rankings:
1. LSU
2. Pitt
3. West Virginia
4. Syracuse
5. Michigan State
6. Southern Cal
7. Oklahoma
8. Arizona
9. Miami (FL)
10. Texas

Falling from the ranks of the unbeaten this week:
#8 Arizona - to the enemy
#9 Miami, 17-34 at home to #22 North Carolina
#11 Ohio State, 34-35 at home to unranked Penn State
#14 NC State, 25-29 at home to unranked Florida State
