Noblesville's catcher
Kuniyoshi Sato, who outshined all his first-year peers in the balloting and on the diamond.
He hit .277 for the
Noblesville Millers, racking up 166 hits, 33 home runs, 91 RBIs, and 88 runs scored to capture the trophy.

2210 was a much better year than
John Burns expected. This spring he was overjoyed at just making the
Colorado roster. Not only did he make the team, he was the starting first baseman. Then it got even better.
In his debut season,
Burns hit .284 with 159 hits in 559 at-bats, 29 home runs, 89 RBIs, 18 bases on balls and a .314 on-base percentage -- good enough numbers to be honored with the Republic League Benny Myers Rookie of the Year Award.
