(05:42) Hippo Fans Ready for Big Finale There is nothing on the line except pride when Houston faces Brooklyn Sunday for the season finale. Brooklyn has already clinched autopromotion while the Hippos are locked into 3rd place.

Brooklyn has gotten the best of Houston in their previous clashes except for a crucial 1-1 draw in our first season in Div IV after which the Hippos went on to win 4 of 5 after a shaky 3-5 start.

Sunday is Fan Appreciation Day where every fan in the packed Hippodrome gets a shard o' glass as they enter

Next week, this crazy traveling Hippo show goes to a top team in either an African or European country. Stay tuned!

(01:48) Hippos Begin Hippos Friendly Cup For the first time in five seasons, Hippo faithful were treated to a home Cup game. However, the team couldn't overcome the loss of 3 starters to cards and another to injury in a 3-2 loss to Gnomish Phalanx.

The team will now turn its attention to the Fourth Annual HFC. This season's theme is "Six Continents in Six Weeks". We start in Oceania, playing Ah Jais squad from Div II

FYI:
The first season had no theme
The second was our Baltic Cup
Last season was the Mediterranean

(03:47) Hippos Win Pyrrhic Victory For Third Place The Hippos went on the road, PIC'd, and came away with a 3-2 win against Iowa but it felt like a loss. Three starting Hippos accumulated their third yellow card and will have to sit out Wednesday's match against Gnomish Phalanx. Starting striker Philip Rijk collected two goals but was handed his third yellow from the clearly partisan official. Starting defenders Olav Johansen and Shuo Ming-Cheung also will be riding the pine. Coach José María Miquel has filed a complaint with FIFA.

(08:01) A Cruel Twist of Fate The hattrick gods have dealt Houston a bad blow this week as they have to visit supporter and fellow FOFC'er Flatulon and his Gasmasters in their next cup game.

The two teams have never met before, but it was expected their first match would be under more felicitous circumstances in a friendly.

(20:39) IV.21 Early Season Report It's been a somewhat disappointing start to the season as Houston is 1-1-1 with 4 points. However, with series parity, that's good enough for 3rd place as there is a logjam of 5 teams with either 4 or 3 points. The week 1 loss to Brooklyn was expected, however, the week 2 draw to Stockton was not. Houston held a huge ratings and stars advantage but Stockton was as lucky as the Hippos were unlucky at putting shots on net. But with the win over the Beers, hopefully their fortunes have turned.
