(22:33) Hippo Hearts go out to New Orleans I've only been there once for our 8th grade class trip. The face of a Lutheran school teacher accidentally walking into a porno store is something everyone should see once in their life

It's such a cool and historical town. However, since the levee broke, it seems the worst fears have been realized and the city is all but gone. Bravo to all helping out and I know the hearts of everyone goes out to them.

Proud to see Houston is helping out with the refugees and sending supplies.

(09:01) Season 26 Closing Out Houston looks like they're going to end the season at 3rd place in IV.21 for the 4th season in a row regardless of the outcome of Sunday's game at the hated Enforcers Arena.

Next week's trip to play Athletic Vila-Mar will result in Houston being presented their 38th flag. The Hippos Friendly Tour has been a success yet again this year with stops in 7 different countries, including 1st Division teams in 3 countries and 2nd Division teams in 2 others.

(11:07) Two Weeks to Go For the first time all year, we won a game we shouldn't have instead of the other way around. Bad luck and Q combined to beat SDU 2-1 last week

The Hippo Friendly Tour continues with a game against Irish Premier and Ireland Cup champ Clarinbridge City. We thank and are humbled by croga for agreeing to host us and we will collect flag #37 against this high profile team

Lastly, FOFCer and former USA natty team coach ArdentEnthusiast has agreed to get beaten by us during the off week

(00:46) Support Comes at a Good Time In a showing of divine providence, Hippos supporter was re-upped this week by MountainHawk of the Mathochists. This wasn't some bizarre version of collusion but a contest in Kraftworks concerning when the major players in the NHL CBA would resign. When Goodenow was the first to fall on his sword (or more specifically, the swords of many upset union members) and, by some freak chance, it was closest to August 1st and Hippos GM SterlingIce won. Thanks to MH and KU for hosting the contest.

(02:38) Fall From Grace Returning from his 3 week (mostly) absence due to wedding and resulting honeymoon, GM SterlingIce has found his team in disarray. The team has a 4 game winless streak and pretty much all hope of 1st place is gone. "There are going to have to be some changes made and that starts at the top. There were some awful TS decisions that we have learned from and mistakes we hope not to repeat. Also, no more weddings." According to rumors, Coach Miguel has been told he will not be back next season.

(19:43) Oof! From parade to 3rd place in a week. Houston has put up three straight games with big hatstats advantages but only has a 0-2-1 record to show for it and a 6-3 GD. Math FC is quickly becoming a Houston nemesis, with a win and 2 draws against them in 6 games. Coach Miguel: "The kids are just having a tough time of putting the ball in the net and now we have to win out to even have a chance at promotion."

Up next for Houston is a tip to Cyprus to battle A Katigoria team F.C Kipros.

(19:46) It's Parade Day! The streets are littered with confetti today as Houston threw the Hippos a ticker tape parade. For the first time ever, the Hippos advanced to the 8th round (of 64).

The Hippos now must concentrate on the second half of the league season which opens up with Houston on top of IV.21 but with only a 1 point lead and a tough schedule ahead.

Lastly, this year's Hippo Friendly Cup will be the Home and Away Tour. The Hippos will visit countries who have visited the Hippodrome in the past.

(11:03) Hippos Bounce Back Houston has put together a modest win streak of 4 games over the past two weeks including home wins against Triumphs and FC JunJun by combined score of 11-2.

76K fans watched the Hippos shut out The Prestidigitators 3-0 for only the 3rd home cup win in franchise history and the 1st since season 19. Div III's St. Cloud Muskies will visit Wednesday.

(06:36) Huge Week for Hippos There's no time for the Hippos to rest after last week.

Miraculously, the Hippos are still in 1st place, but that will be on the line Sunday when Triumphs come calling. The Div III relegee will be one of this year's toughest matchups.

For the first time in 3 seasons, Houston will play host to a cup game. Wednesday, The Prestidigitators, long time IV.17 powerhouse, now III.9 leader will clash with the Hippos.

Two big games in the Hippodrome and full crowds expected so get tickets now
