(14:16) Thanks to Hippo Friendly Cup 11 Participants As our flag collection grows, it's getting harder to get friendlies. It just seems that in some countries, it's expected that you you have pony up supporter or something else ludicrous to teams just to play them for a week or, at the very least, get in a 4 year waiting list.

Not the case with anyone this season, so a hearty thanks to everyone we have played this season:

(05:21) Hasty Hippo Musings * With the upcoming Jacksonville match, we've brought back an old favorite of the promotions department: sharp rocks. Aim for the green and yellow, kids!

* The Hippos traveled to Costa Rica this past week to collect flag #80. A big thanks goes out to Belfast United FC for hosting

* The team has changed up the logo slightly, adding the world map and switching to sphere flags but with the same great Hippos

* Lastly, congrats to fellow FOFC'er Brillig for his amazing run in this year's cup

(17:06) Hippo Friendly Cup #11 It's that time of year again: The season is about half over and the Hippos have been bounced from the cup in a game they likely should have won. All weekday gaming eyes in Houston turn away from the Hippodrome and to the team's travels around the world.

A theme for this year's Hippo Friendly Cup, for this 11th season, has yet to be determined but the first location has been plotted out. This week, the Hippos will visit act77 from GNF1, Div I of Al Maghrib.

(21:07) Early Season Musings A week ago, this would have been a bit more celebratory as Houston had fought to a draw in Jacksonville and Staples would be looking forward to his upcoming 100th match as a Hippo, in which he would be putting up a team record 8.5 *'s.

What a difference a week makes, however, as a loss to Gutek puts Houston in 4th instead of 1st and a game is looming against a Div V Jacksonville clone in the cup.

Still, the Hippos season is far from lost and a good week could put things back on track

(03:37) Houston Hippopotami Season 14 The team is quickly approaching its third anniversary and has much to be happy about.

-Houston is about to begin their 4th season in Div III. As our goal was to make it to III when we started, this has to be considered a smashing success.

-The Hippos collected flag number 75 this week. The collection includes over 50 from Div I teams and flags from the 60 most populous countries in hattie.

-This season we're hoping for another good finish, a deep cup run, and even more flags.
