(05:24) Thankless Series and Thankful Friendlies Once again III.3 is proving to be unforgivingly close with all 6 of the top teams vying for final placement. Your Hippos find themselves in 3rd with 2 weeks to go.

Many thanks to our friendly opponents from the past few weeks. The Hippos have been playing in some hard to schedule places and these teams have been gracious enough to allow us to play there:

*Seun FC from Nigeria
*CoreaItalia from Hanguk
*ramareem from Al Urdun
*Door doorate from Senegal
*Cruz de Malta FC from Honduras

(03:24) Fall From Grace Houston's stay in 1st was short lived as the team, plagued by bad execution, lost 3-1 at home Sunday to Park Panthers EFC. The team only converted on 1 of 5 chances while the Panthers were a perfect 3 for 3.

Lost among the bad news is that Marcin Tetkowski has 4 straight gold stars and is tied for the series lead with 6 goals. Also, middies Ervin Vickers and Thomas Little are playing some of the best midfield of their career.

Sixth round cup game coming Wednesday!

(03:00) Late Goal Leads Hippos into Logjam After a dramatic win Sunday, the Hippos are among 5 teams with 6 points atop the III.3 leaderboard.

Having been stifled all day by the brilliant play of amblerabsbestos's keeper Franco Miceli, an unnamed Hippo player blasted him out of his cleats and out of the game with 5 minutes to go. Then, in the 87th minute, Marcin Tetkowski scored the game's only goal.

Coach Mick Starks, known for his, ahem, aggressive tactics on the pitch, only offered up: "That's not quite how I drew it up".

(03:30) Inauspicious Start to Season The season started out on a sour note for the Hippos as both Charlie Partridge and Mirco Curiger joined Xacobo Armengol on the injury list.

Still, there is good news:
- Houston survives the red card loss of Tetkowski and the injuries to pick up an important 3 points
- Next week's cup team is a bot after last week's win against Ace Deuce Assassins
- Finally, the Houston youth academy Hungry Hungry Hippos are born; This causes the fan club to be renamed the Hippo Helpers
