Nobody who's interested in us is worth giving a transfer scholarship to, so we'll skip that. Our prestige has dropped to 17, by the way.

Rough recruiting season ahead. No High interest from 3* players, and the only 2* players with High interest are all PGs. 4 scholarships to offer. Because we have absolutely nothing to lose, I throw offers right away.

Target #1 - C Russ Webb - Kentucky Mr. Basketball

Target #2 - PF Elden Rush - Mississippi Mr. Basketball

Target #3 - PG Reed Dryden - West Virginia Mr. Basketball

Target #4 - SG Jacob Marshall - North Carolina All-State

Next Month
Everyone is R/B, save for Rush, who is R/G. We also have no shot on Rush, as Jackson State and Arkansas-Little Rock are #3 and #5 with offers, and we don't rate, so we'll pull the offer on him.

Russ Webb
We're #3 and the lone visible offer, but Cincinnati, Indiana, Morehead State, and Virginia Tech are all around us.

Reed Dryden
Villanova, Ohio, Virginia, Kent State, and Akron as top 5, none of whom have offered.

Jacob Marshall
Furman, Winthrop, South Carolina, Clemson, Gardener-Webb as Top 5, with no offers as well.

Next Month
Russ Webb
Bumped down to #4, and Virginia Tech and Cincinnati have offered, so we're out.

Jacob Marshall
Up to #2 and in a battle with Winthrop, who have also offered a scholarship. We'll hang in here and fight it out.

Reed Dryden
Offers from Akron and Ohio, and we're #4, but we'll do the campus visit and see where things stand.

New Target #1 - PF Colin Ogden - Mr. Basketball D.C.

New Target #2 - PG Tony Engler - Mr. Basketball Massachusetts

Next Month
Jacob Marshall - Two way fight between us and Winthrop, Winthrop with the lead.

Reed Dryden - Down to us and Akron, with Aron ahead.

Colin Ogden - UNC-Greensboro with an offer and #1, but we'll campus visit and see where thing stand.

Tony Engler - Won't even consider us and has an offer from Northeastern, so we pull out.

Next Month
We lose out on Jacob Marshall and Reed Dryden to Winthrop and Akron respectively.

Lifetime Recruiting Battles
Akron: 0-1
Coastal Carolina: 1-0
Davidson: 0-1
South Carolina: 0-1
Winthrop: 0-1

Colin Ogden - Down to us and UNC-Greensboro, but we'll hang in there.

New Target 1 - PG Noel Williams - Florida All-State

New Target 2 - SF Bobby Henry - Indiana All-State

Starting Lineup
PG Stephen Brazil (Sr)
SG Earle Vega (Fr) - R/G
SF Garrett Hackett (Sr)
PF Andrew Peters (Fr) - R/G
C Antony Holmberg (Fr) - O/G

Peters wasn't as good as advertised, but Holmberg had a great offseason training and comes in as our best player and #1 threat on offense. I'm expecting big things out of him.

Recruits By State/Country - Lifetime
Australia - 1
South Carolina - 2

Game 1 - @ Charleston Southern
45-53 L. Ugly game. 12 points, 9 rebounds and a steal from Antony Holmberg, but he also shot just 5 of 15. Our other freshmen had pretty quiet games.

Game 2 - @ Presbyterian
46-55 L. 15 points, 7 rebounds from Antony Holmberg (4/9). Some nice defensive presence from Andrew Peters with 5 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks, and a steal Earle Vega scores 12 points, but is just 2/8 from the floor.

Game 3 - vs Gardner-Webb
Our first home game is a 50-61 L. 13 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks out of Antony Holmberg, but Earle Vega's 10 points come at another costly 2 of 8 shooting.

Game 4 - vs Pepperdine
Oh look, another L. This one 43-59. You know it's a bad game when 7 points ([b]Andrew Peters) is your high scorer.

Game 5 - @UNC-Charlotte
55-70 L. 11 points and 2 blocks from Antony Holmberg, and Andrew Peters picks up a career high 10 points to go with 7 rebounds, but there just is not much talent on this roster. Granted, it *is* a lot better than last year's squad, but that's not saying a whole hell of a lot.
