Week 8: Duluth (2-3) at Chesapeake (3-2)
This is a good week to get back on the right foot, playing at home against a team we (on paper) overmatch. Duluth has an excellent quarterback, which is always dangerous – but their supporting cast isn’t that strong, and we are favorites here.
We make a game plan shift, dropping to a 3-4 defense, and putting another LB on the field. Hilton Boner is back in at QB for the injured Harry Ross, but that shouldn’t alter our offensive thinking too much.

Oh, good lord. Leading by four with four minutes to go. Doom ensues, of course.
Whose fault is this, though? our running game was just dreadful, and most of our aerial attack was underneath stuff as well – just not a very aggressive offense. We need to capitalize on those red zone oprtunitites, rather than kick four straight field goals, and we win this game fairly easily.
Very bad loss. We drop to 3-3, and are in a very tough spot for this season. In a few short weeks, we have plummeted from the league’s second tier of contenders to a team that has to be wondering whether we need to “blow things up” and start the hell over. We might end up just spinning our wheels this year, grinding out 7 or 8 wins, and just costing ourselves a good draft pick.
