1 feature game to tell you about this week, and let's get to it.

12/6/18- Rice (Charlie Shocker) @ Tulsa (Will Brown) -- 40 minutes wasn't enough to decide this one, as Rice overcame 20 turnovers to hold Tulsa to just 39.4% shooting and dominated the overtime, getting a big road win.

Final Score: Rice- 84, Tulsa- 77 (OT)

Now for the rest of the weekly recap:

Hartford (David Ginsberg) -- 0-8, 0-0 America East.

12/4/18 at Quinnipiac (L 86-70).
12/6/18 at St. Francis NY (L 68-56).
12/8/18 vs. Providence (L 73-36).

3 more losses for the Hawks this week, and none of them were very close. They've got 2 more chances to end the losing streak next week.

ECU (Al Hutt) -- 3-3, 0-0 American.

12/4/18 vs. Jacksonville (W 70-55).
12/6/18 vs. #12 N.C. State (L 78-68).

A decent effort against a very good N.C. State team, as the Pirates had it within 4 late, but ran out of gas. After a home game early next week, it gets much tougher as they embark on a 5 game road trip.

Tulsa (Will Brown) -- 1-4, 0-0 American.

12/3/18 vs. #15 Texas A&M (L 95-91).
12/6/18 vs. Rice- feature game, highlighted above.

Much better effort this week for the Golden Hurricane. They fell short in 2 games but had A&M on the ropes. The schedule gets easier next week.

Davidson (Randolph Childress) -- 1-3, 0-0 Atlantic 10.

12/6/18 at Xavier (L 62-48).

The Wildcats lose their only game of the week, but like some other teams, their schedule eases up over the next couple weeks.

Clemson (Charles Johnson) -- 1-5, 0-0 ACC.

12/3/18 at VCU (L 88-79).
12/6/18 vs. South Carolina (L 95-84).

2 losses for the Tigers this week. A decent effort, but not great. Next week, 3 games, 2 against ranked teams.

#17 Duke (Dean Hoo) -- 4-1, 0-0 ACC.

12/5/18 vs. George Mason (L 73-72).
12/7/18 vs. Georgia State (W 92-60).

Tough loss for the Blue Devils against George Mason, but a good recovery to end the week on a good note. A very easy schedule coming up before their season tournament in 2 weeks.

Kansas (Dave Johnson) -- 3-3, 0-0 Big 12.

12/6/18 at Nebraska Omaha (W 65-34).

A much needed win for the Jayhawks this week as they go into a stretch next week where they play 2 ranked SEC opponents that haven't lost yet.

TCU (Bee Mighty) -- 5-1, 0-0 Big 12.

12/4/18 vs. McNeese State (W 80-54).
12/9/18 at Cal State Fullerton (W 74-73).

2 more wins for the Horned Frogs who are taking advantage of a soft non-conference schedule. That's ok though, they need all the wins they can get now before conference play starts.

Michigan (Cillian Tribble) -- 3-4, 0-0 Big Ten.

12/3/18 vs. Toledo (L 60-58).
12/6/18 at Texas (W 66-63).
12/9/18 at Boise State (L 80-79).

A heart wrenching week for the Wolverines, who lose 2 games by the combined margin of their lone win of the week, just 3 points. Tough week!

Michigan State (Al Mighty) -- 3-2, 0-0 Big Ten.

12/3/18 vs. Cleveland State (W 94-61).
12/6/18 at Northern Iowa (L 77-68).
12/9/18 at SMU (W 62-60).

The Spartans are struggling a little bit, but no shame in losing to Northern Iowa, they are good this season. Just 1 game next week before a 10 day layoff.

Northwestern (Ess Vee) -- 2-3, 0-0 Big Ten.

12/3/18 vs. Vanderbilt (L 70-46).
12/5/18 vs. Texas Southern (W 73-66).
12/8/18 at #23 Creighton (L 59-31).

It's a far cry from last season for the Wildcats, who have already lost 3 non-conference games this season. Next weeks schedule is interesting, they play an undefeated team followed by a winless team.

Hawaii (B.B. Gunn) -- 0-3, 0-0 Big West.

12/3/18 at Boston College (L 81-79).
12/6/18 vs. Stony Brook (L 66-64, OT).

The Warriors are still looking for their first win of the season, but this weeks effort was much better, as they only lost by 2 points each game.

Charlotte (Timmy Tribble) -- 2-1, 0-0 Conference USA.

12/8/18 vs. Western Carolina (W 69-60).

Good win for the 49ers, who needed it as they go on a 6 game road trip now where the combined record of their opponents is 24-6.

Rice (Charlie Shocker) -- 4-1, 0-0 Conference USA.

12/4/18 at Houston (W 80-76).
12/6/18 at Tulsa- feature game, highlighted above.

Take nothing away from either of these opponents, even though the record doesn't show it, this will prove to be 2 solid road wins come March.

Monmouth (Thomas Carrano) -- 5-2, 0-1 MAAC.

12/5/18 at Rhode Island (L 59-46).
12/7/18 at Yale (W 87-66).
12/9/18 at Niagara (L 73-65).

Not a good week for the Hawks, especially the start to conference play. At least they did hammer Yale, but the MAAC doesn't look too tough this season so a good finish is still a possibility.

Norfolk State (Payten Carrano) -- 2-2, 0-0 MEAC.

No games this week for Coach Carrano and the Spartans.

Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 4-3, 0-0 Pac 12.

12/4/18 vs. Weber State (W 60-58).
12/7/18 at Denver (L 62-51).
12/9/18 vs. Western Illinois (W 70-42).

2 out of 3 this week for the Buffaloes isn't bad, but losing to teams like Denver won't do them any favors come March.

Stanford (Benito Sanchez) -- 3-1, 0-0 Pac 12.

12/4/18 at South Dakota State (W 52-50).

Just 1 game this week for the Cardinal, who struggled but got the victory.

#6 UCLA (Tim Shepard) -- 8-0, 0-0 Pac 12.

12/4/18 vs. Hofstra (W 81-74).
12/7/18 at Cal State Fullerton (W 71-63).

2 more wins for the Bruins as they remain undefeated. The win over Hofstra gave Coach Shepard his 100th win of his career, the first FOFC coach to reach that milestone!

Washington State (DeShawn St. John) -- 3-1, 0-0 Pac 12.

12/5/18 vs. Portland State (W 68-60).

1 game again this week for the Cougars, but it was a win. Next week they get some more mid-major tests that should be a bit tougher.

#18 Alabama (Roy Rogers) -- 6-0, 0-0 SEC.

12/4/18 vs. Northwestern State (W 65-51).
12/6/18 vs. Northern Illinois (W 73-43).

2 more wins for the Crimson Tide who are taking advantage of the easier schedule, needing a break from the grind they started with.

#20 Florida (Noah Oppenheimer) -- 6-0, 0-0 SEC.

12/3/18 vs. FIU (W 64-56).
12/5/18 vs. Duquesne (W 88-69).
12/7/18 at Louisville (W 76-73, OT).

Solid week for the Gators, who continue to win, including a tough road OT victory at Louisville.

Kentucky (Patrick Hutt) -- 4-3, 0-0 SEC.

12/5/18 vs. Delaware (W 84-76).
12/8/18 at Xavier (L 66-62).

The Wildcats continue to play un-Kentucky like basketball, losing at Xavier. They better figure it out soon because their next 2 games are very challenging.

Troy (Brett Hawkins) -- 2-2, 0-0 Sun Belt.

12/6/18 vs. Seton Hall (W 82-78, OT).
12/8/18 at Jacksonville State (W 70-57).

A big win for the Trojans as they get one in OT over a pretty solid Seton Hall team. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going.

Here's a look at the national top 25 going into next week:

Good weeks for UCLA and Florida move them up the ladder, while Alabama stays at 18. A lack of respect for Duke who loses a game by 1 point and loses all their votes. Monmouth also loses their votes after a 1-2 week.

Now for the mid-major top 25 going into next week:

Man, tough crowd for Monmouth, as they drop all the way from #6 in the mid-major polls to losing all their votes. Both our Conference USA representatives in Rice and Charlotte are receiving votes now.
