General Update
Brett had a moment of frustration last night, feeling that he wasn't very good. He's struggling right now in practice because rather than do a lot of swimming, they are doing more drills and specifically more kicking drills. I've mentioned before that Brett isn't very good at kicking and he's seeing himself get passed (lapped in many cases) and shuffled to the back of the line. This is very different from the way it was at the end of short course season. When the team was prepping for state they were swimming more laps and doing less drills and Brett was not only leading the lane he was passing everybody.
After his private lesson on Saturday, the coach told him to start doing exercises to get his legs stronger. He's done a bit here and there, but following the moment of depression described above, he decided to work hard with his ankle weights, bungee cord, and chin up bar last night. We'll see if he uses this for motivation moving forward.
