Friday July 19th: Stars (51-42) Vs Astros (42-51)
John Dettmer went 5 unimpressive innings and left down 5-1. We got it to 5-3 in the ninth but Billy Wagner closed it out as drop the opener. Yuck. Brian Jordan homered and Womack had 2 hits. Bichette was 3-4 with a homer and Orlando Miller went 3-5.
Final Score: Astros 5 Stars 3

Tom Goodwin has a sore hamstring and will miss 3 days. We're not going to make any roster moves, we'll just play a man short for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday July 20th: Stars (51-43) Vs Astros (43-51)
We were tied 1-1 going to the eighth when Hamilton put the first two runners on. King would allow one of them to score. Taubansee would then homer off of Pall in the ninth and Billy Wagner would set us down in the bottom of the inning as they take another one from us. Bleh to the max. Steve Finley was 3-4 with a homer for them.
Final Score: Astros 3 Stars 1

Sunday July 21st: Stars (51-44) Vs Astros (44-51)
Sele gave up 4 runs in 6.1 innings and Daryl Kile held us to 2 hits and 1 run in throwing a complete game as we looked and played like a steam poodle turd. This shit needs shaking up.
Final Score: Astros 5 Stars 1

Monday July 22nd: Off Day
It's time to shake this thing up. We're 7.5 games back with a 3 game series against the Dodgers coming up over the weekend, it's pretty much our last stand so we're gonna make some changes. We call up 3B Willie Greene and send down 3B Dave Hansen to AAA. Tony Womack will move up to the 2 spot, Helton will hit 3rd, Greene becomes our cleanup hitter, Burnitz will hit 5th, Goodwin will hit 6th, Spiers will hit 7th and whoever is catching will hit 8th. This gives Helton more of a chance to be a run producer but it's all predicated on Greene being able to be a power threat. I hope he's up for the challenge.

The Dodgers picked up veteran 2B Mike Bordick from the A's in exchange for a minor league pitcher.
