Tuesday July 30th: Stars (55-47) At Reds (39-65)
We jumped out to a 5-0 lead off of John Thomson and Nomo would go six and leave up 6-4. We added a run and our pen closed them out to get the win in the opener. Helton had 3 RBI and Greene and Womack had 2 hits each. Juan Samuel went 3-5 for the Reds.

Wednesday July 31st: Stars (56-47) At Reds (39-66)
Hamilton went 6.1 scoreless innings and we led 3-0 after seven. Hurst, Moeller and Hope would close it out as we take another one and push back to 10 games over .500. Spiers was 3-4 with an RBI.
Final Score: Stars 4 Reds 0
We tried pretty hard to find a reliever we could deal for but nothing was working out, we arn't gonna overpay and we would have had to do exactly that.
The Cubs sent RP Chuck McElroy & SS Rey Sanchez to Oakland for SP Pete Harnisch and SP Kevin Foster in the only last minute deal.
Thursday August 1st: Stars (55-47) At Reds (39-65)
Sele threw 8 shut out innings and we rolled to victory to complete the sweep. Goodwin was 2-4 with a homer, Greene was 3-5 with a homer and Trammell went 3-4.
