Beyond some of the crude lyrics and weird looking artists, I'd like to think they would love modern music's creativity, instruments, vocals, melodies etc. and concert showmanship (?) ... but probably not.

I just read an article where David Crosby was bitching about ... Iron Maiden. Like, Paleozoic complaining about Mesozoic being "noise."
I'm sure you have your Tony Bennett types who openly enjoy (and perform with) contemporary artists, but for many old artists, "old" trumps "artist."
