Looking at the time stamp, that was after a flag was thrown during an unsuccessful fourth-and-two play and everyone was worried about pass interference. The call was on Iowa (and declined).

This must be true for all partisan boards. You always think the refs are out to get you. In Michigan's case, a lot of it comes from the Ohio State game a few years back - the fourth-down spot that would have ended the game gets referenced at least a dozen times weekly even now.

Here - that could have been a no-call and it wouldn't have changed the outcome, the ball wasn't thrown there and the Michigan defender was picked, but assigned to the receiver who picked him. Earlier, there were a couple of calls on the Iowa offensive line. They play a zone blocking scheme, and the NCAA is cracking down on low blocks out of that scheme. The one that sparked some anger was a bad call (you're allowed to throw a low block on your initial thrust from the line). OK, one bad call. Then there was a no-call on a 50/50 pass interference in the end zone a few minutes later the other way that took points off for Michigan. Maybe a make-up, but referees don't really work that way. The game totals don't indicate that penalties changed the outcome. It was a 27-7 game with a prevent touchdown with 0:08 remaining.

Can't really straighten out a game thread - hundreds of posters and emotions are crazy. But you could try if you like. It might be a little easier than straightening out a Twitter thread, but not by much.
