At first, no one comes forth to speak for the man's cub, until Baloo, the large, sleepy brown bear whom everyone trusts and teaches the Law of the Jungle to the wolf's cub, lumbers forward and speaks.

"A man's cub? A man's cub? I speak for the man's cub. There's no harm in a man's cub. Let him run with the pack." "Is there another?" queries wolf chief Akela, "we've heard from Baloo, we need another."
The wolves continue to quarrel and argue about it, some getting rather heated. They shout insults and strike each other.
"My brothers, I am not of this council but I only know that in disputes such as this, the Law of the Jungle says that if you so desire to banish one from your pack, and it is agreed upon by vote, then that wolf is banished."
"Yes! Yes! Listen to Bagheera" shouts another.
Akela considers this. "If this is your desire my brothers then we should vote."
The wolves bark in agreement and one by one begin to vote as Akela calls out each wolf in question and places pawprints next to their name.
