The 2037 NFL Preseason:

I have 61, I cut K Simmons

Week 2 – At Cleveland – We lose 17-13, no injuries

Week 3 - New England – We win 20-17, no injuries

Week 4 – At Cincinnati – Rough. We lose 13-23, no injuries

Rookie Lookie #2:

3.28 – K Rickey Brotherton, Duke, 61/73; 66/73
4.10 - FB Ashton Kish, Clemson, 39/49, 43/52
4.28 – WR Max Vander Esch, Texas, 23/40; 24/36, CUT
6.28 – CB Bob Hull, Syracuse, 40/40; 45/49
7.28 – OG Lester Dolezal, Arkansas, 16/44, 20/39

No pot growth by the very underrated K Brotherton. Yay Kish! Not a great fall by Vander Esch, but good rise by Hull. The expected drop by Dolezal.

UFAs:

CB Tommy Curry – 29/48; 32/37, CUT
SLB Daniel Higginbotham – 25/49; 29/43
DE Perry Bright – 33/49, 37/51
CB Ron Bownes - 20/45 , 24/39,
RB Alexander Ding – 25/41; 26/33, CUT
WR Cornell Jellison – 35/44, 35/39 special teams stud

Drops by Bownes, Curry, Higginbotham, rise by Bright, drop by Jellison, Bright is one of three 50+ from this draft. Good stuff!

I need to cut 7:

RB Ding
WR Vander Esch
RT Wagner
FS Mattos
CB Curry
WILB Edeson
NT Major

Here’s my starting roster!

The 2037 Carolina Panthers:

A few folks dropped, OG Montano to 48/48, DE McKendrick to 55/55, DE Meraz will start. NT Tae dropped to 56/56. WILB Lenard dropped to 55/55. SS Spencer rose to 63/63, from 60/60, I am starting at RB Kim at 44/44.

Here’s our top rookie:

I know you probably don’t want to see a boring K, the first to head off, but here you go. He’s in the 90s for distance, but just 64 accuracy.

I’m ready for the regular season!!!

The 2037 NFL Season:

Can we get back to the Super Bowl and win? Last year we had the top seed at home and lost to the Saints. That’s our first time losing with the top seed to making it to the Super Bowl.

Week 2 – At Cincinnati – Uh oh for reals. We lost there in preseason by 10. Can we show up this time? Since it’s not preseason, yes, 31-24. Fiste 20 of 34 for 228 and 3:1, scores by Jackosn on 9 for 113, Wellons and Davis. Four picks on the day, a game winning PICK SIX by CB Alston, picks by Spencer, Caiden and Hennessy. FF by Howells rec by CB Cam. 5 KRB by Montano, light KRB day

Week 3 – SF – They did very well last year, but we have them at home. They score…31 on us the road from the WC, but we hang 51! Rush scores by Sanchez and Fist,e who was 19 of 32 for 244 2:0 ad puled in the fourth for Higginbotham who was s4 f 7for 59 and 1:1. Catching that was Jackson 9 for 139 and 2 scores, the other aerial TD grabbed by Sanchez. 2 picks y Hennessey 1 RET for a score. 3 KRB by Montano and Planish. That was my first complete gamin a while.

Week 4 – at Chicago – Another rough game for a winning record NFC team. But their qb retired an they are 0-3. They want to make this a get right game, can we stop them? Yes we can, 27-19. Fiste is 27 of 35 for 240 and 2:0, and a rush score too. Scores by Jackosn and Davis. Pick by Spencer, 3 KRb by Parr and Planish

We are 4-0, and are leading the NFC South over the 3-1 Falcons

Week 14 – At Dallas – We’ll need that two games up since we are in their house today. We win barely 21-20. Fiste is 25 of 32 for 293 and 1:1 hitting Kim for score, fumrec score to give us the win by Julio Baskin. Just one sack, 3 KRB by Fest,a, light blocking day

Week 16 – At Atlanta – This is our last away game of the year…they are 9-5 and comfortably in the WC spot. They will likely show up hard. They beat us 25-17. Week 17 – Pittsburgh – Always a rough match, even at home. We win a low scoring running, defensive AFC North game the way Pittsburgh likes it 13-6. Fiste is 20 of 24, 212 and 1:0, and Jackson has that score. 2 picks by CB Downs, one by Alston. Just one sack, 4 KRB b YFesta, Montano and Garza

The 2037 NFL Playoffs:

Wild Card Weekend:

Since we beat all of the playoff teams in our place or away, save Atlanta, I really only want the Eagles to upend the Cowboys and the Bears to hold serve against the Falcons. I’m not bothered by Seahawks or Commanders at home.

Results:

Neither team lost. The Falcons over Bears 29-28
The Cowboys over the Eagles 21-10
The Commanders won on the road 22-17

We host them next week

Chargers over Chiefs 24-18
Jaguars over Steelers 27-10
Raiders over Patriots

Divisional Champ Weekend:

We host the Commanders. We…win 30-19

Rush score by Fiste who is 22 of 35 for 320 and 3:2, Jackson 14 for 213 and 1 score, others by Pedraza and Montanez. Pick by Spencer, Cam and Alston, 1.5 sacks by DT Quincy, 3 FRB b Montao and Garza.

Also:

The Falcons won on the road against the big bad 26-16

Raiders over Bengals 21-17
Chargers over Jaguars 34-14

The Conference Championship:

We host the only team to beat us, the Falcons. We lost at home last year to the Wild Card Saints, they know us. Who will win today? Out is their stud RB. They have a 0s QB, but two 60s WR, just like Dalton and Legette and Thielen that I inherited. They KNOW us. They show up. We win by just one, 31-30.

Fiste is 21 of 27, 298 and 4:1, Jackson one score, Pedraza two, Davis one. FF by Lenard, rec by CB Cam, just one sack, 3 KRB by Parr.

Also the Chargers also won at home 22-10 over the Raiders.

The 2037 NFL Super Bowl:

Your AFC Champion 11-6 #3 Seed San Diego Chargers

Vs

Your NFC Champion 16-1 #1 Seed Carolina Panthers

This is 5th Super Bowl appearance and we e 2-2, with losses to Ravens and Chiefs, and victories twice over the Bills.

Who will win today? We edge them 30-28 in a good Super Bowl.

Fiste? 18 of 24 for 261, 4:1.
Jackson? 8 of 169 and 2 scores
The other two by WR Davis and TE Zhang.
SS Spencer? Pick
FF bY Tae and Keats; recovered by Spencer and Downs
1 sack bY Breeden
5 KRb by Festa!

Hopefully we can come back next year!

League Awards:

Super Bowl MVP
– QB Harold Fiste

All-Pro 1st Team:

WR Carson Jackson!
WB Tyler Breeden!!

All-Pro 2nd Team:

K Ricky Brotherton!!!

Welcome back Jackson! That’s Breeden’s first All Pro! He was drafted in the same 1st round. Were SS Spencer and Hennessey robbed of All Pros? A rookie Kicker with an All Pro? Good stuff!

Rookie Lookie #3:

3.28 – K Rickey Brotherton, Duke, 61/73; 66/73, 72/72
4.10 - FB Ashton Kish, Clemson, 39/49, 43/52, 45/52
4.28 – WR Max Vander Esch, Texas, 23/40; 24/36, CUT
6.28 – CB Bob Hull, Syracuse, 40/40; 45/49, 45/49
7.28 – OG Lester Dolezal, Arkansas, 16/44, 20/39, 20/39

Not a bad bit of depth with Hull’s rise, good job Brotherton.

UFAs:

CB Tommy Curry – 29/48; 32/37, CUT
SLB Daniel Higginbotham – 25/49; 29/43, 29/43
DE Perry Bright – 33/49, 37/51, 37/51
CB Ron Bownes - 20/45 , 24/39, 24/39
RB Alexander Ding – 25/41; 26/33, CUT
WR Cornell Jellison – 35/44, 35/39, 37/39, special teams stud

Meh. Bright is a lightbulb.

Stats:

Throwing that Ball:

QB Fiste – 395 of 546, 4553, 8th most, 33:10, more picks than usual, 7th most, QBR is 109.6. 5th best, 329 sacks

Not bad, but not amazing.

Running that Ball:

RB Kim – 223 for 989, ypc of 4.43, 4 scores
QB Fiste – 124 for 527, ypc of 4.25, 2 scores
RB Sanchez – 136 for 463, ypc of 3.40, 3 scores

Not great for Kim, 13th most rushing yards, or Sanchez.

Catching that Ball:

WR Carson Jackson – 147 for 1857 yards, led the league, 22 scores led the league
WR Pedraza – 45 for 603, 2 scores
WR Davis – 57 for 580, 5 scores
TE Wellons – 45 for 500, 2 scores

Lighter normal year with Wellons. Pedraza and Davis fine here. Stud year for Jackson

Blocking that Ball:

OG Montano – 46 KRB, 1 pancake, 12 sacks
C Festa – 42 KRB, 2 and 5 sacks allowed
OG Planish – 37 KRB, 2 and 3 sacks allowed
RT Garza – 25, 2 and 4 sacks

Kicking that Ball:

K Brotherton – 37 of 42, long of 54, 42 of 49 PAT.

Yay All Pro, but that’s a lot of missed PAT.

Punting that Ball:

P Allen – 76 punts for net avg of 39.72, lower, 26 in 20, lower too.

Is Allen at the end of his career?

Rushing that Ball:

WLB Breeden – 10 sacks, 6 TFL, 6 blocks, 7 hurries and 14 QBKD, 3 FF
DE Stutts - 7.5 sacks, 2 TFl, 6 blocks, 9 hurries, 14 QBKD
DE Meraz – 6 sacks, 2 tfl, 2 blocks, 3 hurries and 8 QBKD, 2 FF
NT Tae – 4.5 sacks, 3 hurries, 6 QBKD
DE McKendrick – 3 sacks, 4 TFL, 8 blocks, 4 hurries and 6 QBKD
SILB Keats – 135 tackles, 2 sacks, 8 TFL, 3 hurries, 7 QBKD
SLB Howells – 114 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 blocks, 1 QBKD, 3 FF, Fumrec score

Breeden led my team with sacks, and DE Stutts in hurries and they were tied for QB knockdown rate. Down year by Tae, and McKendrick now that he’s not starting.

Covering that Ball:

SS Spencer – 143 tackles, 9 tfl, 1 block and hurry; 6 picks, 1 pick six, 9 pasdef, 44 FF
FS Hennessey – 6 picks, 1 INT RET Score, 9 pasdef, 2 FF
CB Alston – 3 and 15 pasdef
CB Downs – 3 and 5, 2 FF
CB Caiden – 2 and 3

Alston led team in pasdef. Spencer and Hennessy were both LEADING THE LEAGUE IN PICKs!!! How did they not get All Pro? Spencer led my team in FF too.

Team Awards
:

Offensive Player of the Year: WR Carson Jackson – He is back! After a Sophomore slump last year, he led the league in TDs with more than 20 and yards too. He was worth that multi-1sts with a Super Bowl win in year three and two All Pros already.

Defensive Player of the Year: WLB Tyler Breeden - From the same draft and round as Jackson, he notched his 2nd double digit sacks and won his first All Pro. Good stuff Will LB!

Special Teams Player of the Year: CB/PR Joshua Downs – Dude had a PR RET score for us. Good job Downs!!! His PR average was 2nd best in the league among 10 PR people.

Rookie of the Year: K Rickey Brotherton: We’ve had many recent All Pro rookies like Jackson and Alston. This guy just did the same! Welcome to the team rookie!

Heart Award: TE Dillion Zhang - H
e won us a game on a FF that WR/RET/Gunner forced from Jackson FF, recovered it for a score. We won that game! Great!!

Let’s try to win back to back Super Bowls next year!!!

The 2038 NFL Offseason:

Before I head out, I have 53 on my roster, and retiring are TE Montanez and LG Montano. I score an 87.

Tix – We sold just 98.7% of tix, so I drop them a bit

Staff Draft:

Leaving next year are DC Carver and Head Trainer Cabral. Do I want to keep Carver?

DC:

Carver - He’s 90 INT, 60 in motivation, player dev, playcalling, 50 interviews but 40 scouting, 20 youth dev and 0 discipline. True 3-4, 63 years old. I feel like there might be better folks out there. He’s bad in three areas, and one of those is scouting. And 50 interviews isn’t exactly a strength. Other than smarts, his only good scores are down in the 60s. But he’s been with us for 13 years, loads of institutional knowledge. And we just won a Super Bowl.

Which True 3-4s are better?

I am only looking at DCs that are the same or better as his 60 playcalling since that’s my default:

Leyton Vander Esch - Age 52, 90 playcalling, 80 INT and youth, 70 interviews, 60 scouting, bad player dev, motivation and discipline, but those are probably covered by HC. Good at LB. Better at Scouting, playcalling by 30 and interviews.

EJ Speed – Age 42, secondary focus, 60 playcalling, 90 player dev, 80 scouting, 70 mot, 60 INT, 50 youth, 40 interviews, discipline. Same play calling, way better scouting, slightly worse interviews, just two bad stats to Carver’s 3 and Vander Esch too

DeShawn Barbe – age 34, secondary focus – 80 interviews, 70 youth, 60s and 50s everywhere else, one bad stat, 10 development. Same playcalling, stud interviews with 80, but same scouting at 50.

That’ it, stud interviews, scouting, or playcalling? Vander Esch is also better at interviews at 70 and scouting 60. Barbe is the most well-rounded with just player dev weakness and just 50 scouting Vander Esch’s studly playcalling and interviews too but horrible motivation, dev and discipline. I’m really not feeling Speed’s interviews of 40 since that’s how I draft. Barbe there is 80 and Vander Esch is 70. Those are left. Who has the better scouting? 60 to 50, Vander Esch. I’m leaning Vander Esch since he is better at where I need improvement, although if motivation and discipline aren’t covered by HC then that’s not strong. I hire Vander Esch!

Head Trainer:

I can rehire Cabral. But there is a better one out there:

Deron Mayo – NE Head Trainer – age 49, str 100, con 80, int 60

Done!

The Draft Class is Revealed:

I am obviously drafting 1.32, what does it look like? I need to get a stud RB like Taylor again. Also I am about to be getting a huge cap hit with WR Jackson and WLB Breeden in the 4th years, although I can just 5th year option them or let them go, so I cannot afford one in Free Agency.

This is also a one QB draft at the top named Deron Meyer with 8.7 rating and As Scouted. At RB there are two in the 7.s - 7.4 Devon Anderon, Hard to Read and 7.3, very underrated George Hutchings. Just two mid 6s. at TE a 5.8 and two 5.7s, just one 6.0 WR, rough, one 5.4 C, two OGs, and one 8.1 LT and 7.2 RT for Parr and then 5 in the 6s. Not great for Montano though. Also stud 4.3 P Kirk Suzuki since Allen is dropping off at 60/60 and 14th year vet and had a down year last year, 5 6s DE, two 7s DT, 2 lower 6s, if I need to cut Howells, just two OLB in the 6s, and then 6.8 Fitzsimmons can be SLB with Hard to Read, 3 ILB, not needed, one 7.3 CB named Liberman with hard to read, three high 6.s, 6.9 and 6.7 S, again light class.

Tag:
Who can I tag? LT Parr at 50/50 is free, as is CB Alston, I won’t tag, we’ll head to FA!!! Because my cap is about to explode!

2038 Hall of Fame:

I forgot to give you this. Four inductees, WR Jaylen Waddle, QB Mahomes, CB Sauce Gardner from the Jets and CB Akayleb Evans from the Texans.

The 2038 NFL Free Agency:

I have on my roster 39 signed. I have draft of 7, no comp picks. The Colts have tons of Comp picks. I have cap space of 10 mill with 43.41, so 33.3 for signing.

Day 1 –

I have free:

TE Zhang, LT Parr, CB Alston, LT Baskin, NT Quincy, RB Sanchez, SLB Park, RB Mullins, FL Hughes, C Emmer, WLB Di Pietro, FL Davis.

Just as a baseline prior to extending Rookies, what do the starters want:

FL Davis – 49/49, age of 8th year, wants 3 years of 20.17 cap hit of 5.89
LT Parr – 50/50, 7th year, wants 14.37 mil, 3 years, cap hit of 4.14.
CB Alston – 53/53, 5th year, wants 58.35 over four years for cap hit of 10.92

Parr is cheap, Davis is doable. But…

Draft P Kirk Suzuki

Rookies Coming Free:

WR Jackson – 4th year vet, 80/80, cap hit of 14.49 mill, wants 5 year deal of 190.09 mill with a cap hit this year of 36.72. A cap hit raise of 22.23

WLB Breeden – 4th year vet, 78/78, cap hit of 5.42, wants 171.53 mill, 5 year deal at cap hit 26.73 a total of 21.36

I can do one with my cap space of 33.3, but both is 43.59.

I made a mistake last off season, I bet if I had left TE Wellons wait until now, he’d be cheaper like all TEs in the 50s. Who can I extend and save some cap space?

Other Extensions:

QB Fiste – 11 year vet, 73/73, cap hit of 61.87. Just wants two year deal of 118.98 for a cap hit of 60.31. I do it.

SS Spencer – 62/62, age 29, cap hit of 15.09, wants 2 year deal at 24.89, drop in cap to 13.48. Freeing up around 1.5

RT Garza – 60/60, age of 28, cap hit of 18.41, wants 2 year deal of 27.29 to drop to 14.92. Freeing up around 3.5 mill

DT Tae – Cap hit of 16.69, wants two years of 26.990 for drop in cap to 15.32.

If I cut DE McKendrick who dropped to 55/55 I’d save 11.23, done.

DE Stutts – 60/60, age 28 – wants 22.31 for cap hit rise from 4.69 to 11.15. Nope!

All of those extensions are done too. I now have free 62.76. I extend Jackson and Breeden and have left 19.08.

I resign Parr and have free 14.94. I’m thinking about keeping that free post-draft for draft maneuvering like for Fiste and Jackson for the two RB at the top. I also need to replace OG Montano, and I’m not sure that 5 mill would be enough and there are not many good OGs to draft either. Should I resign Davis at 8th year? No thanks, I’ll just draft depth.

I could resign RT Baskin for 1.69 cap hit, WR Hughes for 1.34 cap hit. Both for my free cash.

I skip it.

I head to Day 2!

Day 2 – Any good cheap for 5 mill?

RG Derrick Redd – 64/64, 5 year player, wants 14.32 mill for 4.01 cap hit this year. I c

I offer Redd 5 mill cap hit.

Day 5
– Redd signs for less for his home team. I offer one year deal to 10 year 59/59 vet named Morgan Lucherne, 4.5 mill

Day 10 – He signs

I head to the draft!!!

The 2038 NFL Amateur Draft:

1st Round – At 1.1, the Falcons take QB Meyer…not good. RB Anderson heads out 1.9 to the Dolphins. I could trade up and grab the very underrated 7.3 George Hutchings. At 1.10 is held by the Cardinals, and they want this year’s 1.32, 4.32, and 2039 1st and 3rd. Just one extra 1st and a 3rd seems doable. I grab him. See you tomorrow!

2nd Round
– My staff here like LT Degley, 5.9, hard to read. Degley looks like Parr, the best is DE 6.2As Scouted, Khari Gentile. I like him for here. OG Flores? He’s pretty green. I do Flores

3rd Round - I want to draft P in 3rd round. I grab the ultra stud.

5th Round
– My staff like S Roger Jennings, who is 4.4 and hard to read and top one. The next is As Scouted and better bars, Mahaffey. The very underrated CB Epperson? DE Suazo looks good this far down. But not a position of need. I grab him though, BAP.

6th Round – I need a good WR and two TE. My staff like TE here, Jessie Bergeron who is 4.1 and overrated. TE Izzo the same rating 4.1. I grab him instead.

7th Round – My staff here like S Kelvin Mahaffey, who is 4.3 and As scouted; I take him.

The 2038 Carolina Panthers

1.10 – RB George Hutchings, Delaware, 57/67
2.32 – OG Roy Flores, Northwestern, 28/60
3.32 – P Kirk Suzuki, Mississippi State, 89/96
5.32 - DE Rich Suazo, Florida State, 34/51
6.32 - TE Chuck Izzo, Louisiana State, 27/40
7.32 – SS Kelvin Mahaffey, Louisville, 24/40

Flores raw. Hutchings not. Wowzers Suzuki. Suazo a solid starter or depth there at the back of the 5th.

The 2038 Late NFL Free Agency:

Day 1 – I need cash, with 7.33 cap space, so I cut P Allen to free up 1.82 and RG rental Luchene for 3.05. Now I have free 12.19 mill with 44 on my roster.

I offer these UFAs for three mill and bonuses:

OC Maxwell Galloway, 14/60
LT Myron Gwyn, 17/48
RT Dusty Brodie, 19/43
RB Mercury Stacy, 36/49
TE Darrin Goldsby, 26/44
WR Lee Jensen, 23/41
DT Luther Rose, 34/47
WLB Courtney Eilers, 27/46
SILB Ezra Bailey, 27/43
WR Horace Jefferies, 13/25 – stud KR/PR

I end the day,

Day 2
- RB Stacy and WR Jensen join! Competition for C Galloway, TE Goldsby and OT Gwyn.

Day 3 – WR Jeffries, SILB Bailey and WLB Eilers are ours. Loads of competition for TE Goldsby, they pulled off Gwyn. I massage my offer by another 50k bonus

Day 4
– C Galloway, TE Goldsby and LT Gwyn join

Day 5 - DT Rose and RT Brodie sign

UFAs:

OC Maxwell Galloway, 14/59
LT Myron Gwyn, 17/44
RT Dusty Brodie, 12/40
RB Mercury Stacy, 37/46
TE Darrin Goldsby, 26/44
WR Lee Jensen, 21/36
DT Luther Rose, 35/46
WLB Courtney Eilers, 28/46
SILB Ezra Bailey, 28/39
WR Horace Jefferies, 13/25 – stud KR/PR

No minuses by Eilers, or TE Goldsby, drop by Bailey, Jensen, and a few others

Ready for a little training camp?

The 2038 NFL Preseason:

I have on my roster just 54 and cap space of 1.42. I head to camp.

Week 2 – At LA Chargers – They want a repeat of the Super Bowl cross country. We win 34-21, no injuries

Week 3 – Kansas City – They drafted a stud Qb last year at the 1.1 spot. We win 23-13 No injuries.

Week 4 – At Indianapolis – We win 19-13. No major injuries

Rookie Lookie #2:

1.10 – RB George Hutchings, Delaware, 57/67, 57/60
2.32 – OG Roy Flores, Northwestern, 28/60, 34/62
3.32 – P Kirk Suzuki, Mississippi State, 89/96, 95/95
5.32 - DE Rich Suazo, Florida State, 34/51, 42/54
6.32 - TE Chuck Izzo, Louisiana State, 27/40, 30/38
7.32 – SS Kelvin Mahaffey, Louisville, 24/40, 30/40

Hutchings busted a bit to just 60 even though he was very underrated. Flores rose a bit. Suzuki a stud. Rise by Suazo. Minor fall by TE Izzo.

UFAs:

OC Maxwell Galloway, 14/59, 20/52
LT Myron Gwyn, 17/44, 19/34
RT Dusty Brodie, 12/40, 22/36
RB Mercury Stacy, 37/46, 38/38
TE Darrin Goldsby, 26/44, 29/44
WR Lee Jensen, 21/36, 22/31
DT Luther Rose, 35/46, 41/56
WLB Courtney Eilers, 28/46, 33/45
SILB Ezra Bailey, 28/39, 26/33
WR Horace Jefferies, 13/25, 14/21 – stud KR/PR

Galloway bust, but still fine as a backup. Big bust by Gwyn, Stacy, drop by Brodie, Jensen, HUGE rise by Rose,

NT Tae fell to 50, I cut him and sign 2nd year DT Tyson Jean to his spot. 33/48

I have 54, I cut:

CB Patton

My Starting Squad:

The 2038 Carolina Panthers

There we are! As you can see, Fiste rose to 75/75, FB Kish fell to 40/42 in year 2, Kim is still starting and I refreshed, I’ll check week one to make sure Hutchings is making those carries. Parr fell to 49/49, Flores is starting at OG, DT Jean, pass rusher at DT, CB Hull rose to 53/55 and is starting, CB Cam busted to 48/48 and is nickel, SS Spencer is down to 58/58.

I forgot to see what 59/59 CB Downs wants. It’s 4 years at 49.56, current cap hit of 2.66, rise to 9.75, I have cap space after cutting Tae of 11.1. I agree

Here’s my top rookie!

If we actually use him with the right number of carries, he could be a stud, assuming he plays up to 60/60 but that’s a drop. He’s great at speed, strength, securing the ball, and 50s 60s okay In hole recog, elusive, hands, route running, and catching in traffic and endurance. Not great in blitz pickup, adjusting to the ball or defeating jammers

Here’s my best rising 2nd rounder starting for Montano Roy Flores. He’s green. His run block and pass block are both solid, and I the mid 70s or high 60 as is strength. His scheme is okay, but not the most endurant starter ever. Nice value at the back of the 2nd!!!

Let’s head to the penultimate season of the decade!!!

The NFL 2038 Regular Season:

Week 1 - At Atlanta – We’ll start away at the 1.1 draft pick QB just taken, 55/60 Deron Meyer. This could start being a loss. Check Week 1 to make sure that RB Hutchings is getting majority of carries. We win 21-15. 2 rush scores by RB Tracy, Hutchings was 15 the most with just 39 yards, Fiste was 17 of 29 for 238 no scores or picks, Jackson was 7 for 119. 2 picks each by CB Downs and Hull. Strip sack by Breeden he recovered, light block day.

Week 2 – Indianapolis – The Colts arrive. They were in the last few playoffs. We score little, but beat them 19-10. The blocking was good today, but Hutchings just 8 for 52, and Kim 12 for 60. We gotta stop splitting our carries or leading with Kim. Fiste is 21 fo 29 for 250 even and 1:0 hitting Jackson 10 for 106 and 1 score. Picks by Spencer and Hennessey, 0 sacks, 4 KRB by Festa, Flores and 3 by Planish.

Week 3 – Seattle – We win a shoot out, 31-29, Hutchings 8 for 43, 1 rush score, same as Kim with 26. Fiste is 24 of 29, 146 and 2:0 hitting for scores TE Izzo and Jackson, pic six by Hull for the win, just one sack, 3 Krb by Planish, light blocking day

Week 4 – At Dallas – Oh uh…we won here last year, away, can we do it again now? Yup, by a FG, 23-20. Fiste 29 of 41 for 350 even and 3:1, Wellons 6 for 102 and score, one each by Predaza and Jackson, pick by Hennessy, 1.5 sacks by Howells, 3 KB by Parr, light blocking day.

The 2038 NFL Playoffs:

Can we win the rough and rare back to back Super Bowl?

Wild Card Weekend:

I am rooting for the WC Cowboys over the 49ers and Commanders over Tampa Ba . I don’t care about the other.

Results:

Chiefs over Jets 34-21
Pats over Titans 30-16
Dolphins over Ravens 22-21

Just one close match, ALL WCs won, if they can off the Chargers…

49ers over Cowboys 20-9
Packers over Seahawks – 25-24
Bucs over Commanders 40-14

Nasty Bucs! Both teams I wanted out are in.

We host the Bucs.

Divisional Champ Weekend:

Can we show up against them…? Oh yes, we showed up hard and the never did, 36-16.

Hutchings 18 of 104, Fiste is 24 of 33, for 327 and 3:0, 2 scores by Goldsby 1, by Kim, Pick by Hennessey, just two sacks, 3 KRB by Flores.

Also:

49ers shut out Packers 22-0

Pats on the road against Dolphins 35-13
Chargers win 34-14 over Chiefs.

We host the 49ers.

The Conference Championship:

The Niners arrive. Can we send them home losers? We do, in a low scoring 17-13 game. Home field!

2 rush scores by Kim, Fiste is 22 f 27 for 258 and Jackson 9 of 113, pick by Spencer, just one sack, 3 KRB by Parr…weird.

Also the Chargers knocked out New England 38-10 and just nailed them. That sets up a repeat of last year’s Super Bowl! Can we win then too?

The 2038 NFL Super Bowl:

Your AFC Champions 14-3 #1 Seed San Diego Chargers

Vs

Your NFC Champion 15-2 #1 Seed Carolina Panthers

Can we get the ROUGH back to back Super Bowl win against the nasty Chargers? Or will they get revenge from last year’s Super Bowl to win? Let’s find out at the same time…

They get revenge in a CLOSE 30-29.

Rush score by Kim, Fiste is 26 of 38, 2:1, Jackson is 9 for 120 and 1 score the other by Pedraza, no TOs, just one sack, but by Breeden, 6 KRB by Planish,

Rookie Lookie #3:

1.10 – RB George Hutchings, Delaware, 57/67, 57/60, 61/61

7.32 – SS Kelvin Mahaffey, Louisville, 24/40, 30/40 30/40

Hutchings and Flores don’t fall, good job. Neither does Suaza. At 1.9 RB Anderson was 75 so I wish we had traded one more spot up.

UFAs:

OC Maxwell Galloway, 14/59, 20/52, 20/52
LT Myron Gwyn, 17/44, 19/34, 19/34

Rose fell.

Stats:

Throwing that Ball:

QB Fiste – 411 of 539 for 4670, 2nd most, 36::10, the most, 116.2, the best

Yup! Great year by the 11th year vet!!!

Running that Ball:

RB Hutchings – 222 for 1109 – finished 9th most, 5.0 yards ypc, 6 scores
RB Kim – 177 for 635m ypc of 3.59, 3 scores
QB Fiste – 83 for 352, 4.24 ypc, 4 scores

Way to many carries for Kim I am thinking about swapping OCs the offseason to another non-spread offense.

Catching that Ball:

WR Jackson – 126 for 1428, 6th most, 11 scores, 2nd most
WR Pedraza - 78 for 1228, 13th most, 7 scores, strong year!
TE Wellons – 63 for 618, 8 scores
WR Jellison – 54 for 553, 3 scores

Blocking that Ball:

C Festa – 55 KRB, 3 pancakes, 6 sacks
OT Garza – 36 KRB, 2 sacks
OG Planish – 36, 2 and 3 sacks

Returning that Ball:

WR/KR Jackson – 1 KR RET TD
CB/PR Downs – 1 PR RET TD

Two people with returns!!!

Punting that Ball:

P Suzuki – 66 punts for net of 43.98, 37 in 20!

That net average is nasty good and 2nd best in league and more than 50% in 20? Nasty good too!

Kicking that Ball:

K Brotherton – 35 of 44, long of 54, 52 of 57 PAT, long of 50 4 times, 2nd most in the league.

Sure I’d like to get those PAT numbers up, but longs are great here

Rushing that Ball:

WLB Breeden – 8.5 sacks, 5 TFL, 1 block, 10 hurrie sand 9 QBKD, 2 FF
DE Stutts – 6.5 sacks, 3 blocks, 4 hurries, 8 QBKD
DE Meraz – 5 sacks, 2 tfl, 6 blocks, 12 hurries, 5 QBKD<
DE Petty – 4 sacks, 1 tlf, 4 blocks, 9 QBKD
SLB Howells – 117 tackles, 3.5 sacks 4 TFL, 7 QBKD, 2 FF
DT Rose – 3.5 sacks, 1 tfl, 1 block, 4 QBKD
SILB Keats – 116 tackles, 3 sacks, 12 TFL, 1 block, 4 hurries and 5 QBKD, 2 FF

Breeden led in sacks, Meraz in hurries and blocks, Breeden and Petty in QBKD, Keats in TFL, Keats was 2nd in the league for TFL.! 2 people in the league had 20+ sacks.

Covering that Ball:

FS Hennessy – 8 pick, 2nd in league, 1 pick six, 5 pasdef
CB Hull – 4 picks, 9 pasdef
CB Downs – 3 and 19, 2 FF
CB Cam – 3 and 5 pasdef 2 FF
SS Spencer – 143 tackles, 6 TFL, 1 block, 1 pick and 5 pasdef

Downs led team in pasdef.

Team Awards:

Offensive Player of the Year: WR Neal Pedraza
- Loads of great choices! Four won All Pro. This is the first two player 1k receiving year in a while, and Pedraza’s first 1k season in 6 years as a pro. His 1228 yards were 13th in the league as the team’s 2nd player. Great stuff Neal!!!

Defensive Player of the Year: FS Edwin Hennessy
– He has led our team in picks each of the three past years. Nasty stuff! He has huge pick numbers, but All Pros go to SS not FS, when they give two, and the lack of tackles, just brings them down in the awards committee. I have never had an All Pro award with an FS in this dynasty, from Holland to Hennessey despite great stats.

Special Teams Player of the Year: P Kirk Suzuki
– Sure, Kirk is a rookie and had two great RET folks, but he was 2nd in net average and more than 50% In the 20! Great stuff Kirk!

Rookie of the Year: RB George Hutching
s – Our first 1k rushing game in years, and in many games tied or Kim had more carries and cut in, still a Top 10 rushing yard season!!!

Heart Award: TE Darrin Goldsby
– Rookie Free Agent, led team with 21 special teams tackles, and was good for catching too at 31 grabs for 300+ yards and FIVE scores! Nasty stuff Darrin!

Can we get back to winning the Super Bowl next year and reach it a 7th time?

The 2039 NFL Offseason:

Before I end the season, I have 53 on my roster. The only two older ones are Fiste 11th year and LS Bryan 10th year. 9th year is just Garza and Spencer. They all come back!

Dallas finishes their move to Fort Lauderdale. I score 72.

2039 NFL Hall of Fame:

We get another in!

WR Xavier Legette
– Four All Pros, 2 rings, Stats: 983 for 13217 yards, 100 TDs even. 81% vote Welcome!!!

Also making it are C Cyrell Humphrey, good news for Festa that they can. Although he had 7 All Pros.

Tix – I dropped TIX price by a few bucks last year after we didn’t’ sell out, and we sold less, just 86.6. I drop them massively.

Staff Draft:

Do I want to keep spread offense OC Keion Zeidan since I only have two WRs and not enough carries too many splits with Kim. Should I try balanced? I don’t want to under-emphasize passing of Fiste to Jackson or Pedraza. So no to smashmouth. I think I did Air Coryell or Erhart=Perkins. in between and got good results.

OC:

Here is Zeidan: 10 player dev, 40 youth and motivation, 70s elsewhere from playcalling to interviews and scouting to INT. That’s why I hired him, very strong at everything save growth and you and motivation. Age 60, QB focus.

Here are the ones free. All of these are Balanced. Since his playcalling is 70, I’m looking at those.

Javonte Williams – Age 38, RB, 90 interview, 70 playcalling, 60 scouting, discipline, youth, 50 dev, just two weak in youth 10, and INT 30

Jason Myers – WR, age 47, 80 interviews, 70 playcalling, dis, play dev, 60 INT, 50 scouting and youth, one bad mot 20.

Nick Chubb – JAX AC – age 43 RB – just 60 playcalling, no weaknesses. 80 youth and INT, 70 player dev and mot, 60 scouting and interviews, 50 dis.

Who do I like? The well rounded but just 60 playcalling Chubb, and 60 each in scouting and interviews?? The amazing interviews of Myers and but just 50 scouting, the studly interviews of 90 with Williams, but two weaknesses and one is smarts. I prefer the interviews and scouting of Wiliams over Myers. Williams or the well-rounded Chubb? Williams is better than Chubb at playcalling, 10, same scouting, interviews of 20. But everything else is Chubb’s. I do Chubb. Let’s se what happens

The Draft Revealed:

We pick 1.31, but not the 1st or 3rd. I have two comp picks in the 3rd. This is also a one QB draft with 8.3 As Scouted, Lee Hanson. I still need an LT for Parr, any free? Just one, 6.7 as scouted Jumbo Wilson. 6 RTs. No 6s in C or OG. 5 6s RB, one stud 5.4 FB named Davis Blake to replace my 2nd year bust. The top TE is 5.7 and not invited to the combine, overrated, one stud 7.1 WR, one 6.1 Light…just two Des, three 7s Dt and two low 6s, three sixes ILB, two OLBs, I still need FSs and nickelback… NO safety higher than 5.7, just three low 6s CB.

Tag: I have coming free LS Bryan, DE Stutts 56/56 who wanted too much, and then ILB Lenard that busted to 55/55. I don’t tag them. Also free are DE Petty, and Mateo good rushing rotation

I head to FA!

The 2039 NFL Free Agency:

I have on my roster just 42, and cap free of 27.80. 18 for late FA.

Day 1 –

Here is what those free want to resign, just for the record:

LS Bryan – 1 year, 1.83
DE Stutts – 9th year, 2 years, 9.25 cap hit of 4.3, reasonable
DE Petty – 44/44, 5th year, pass rush specialist, wants 8.45 for 2 years at 3.82
WILB Lenard – 7th year vet, 55/55, 3 years for 12.31, cap hit of 3.58 reasonable
FS Hennessy – He wants 7.66 mill for 2 years, cap hit of 3.49.
CB Cam – 8th year, 48/48 – wants 15.5 for three years, cap hit of 4.58
DT Jean – 3rd year – 43/48, pass rushing, wants 2 years , 6.6 for cap hit of 2.93.

Not bad

Here’s my rookies coming free:

SILB Keats – 79/79, 4th year, cap hit of 2.77, wants 132.22 over 5 years for cap hit this year of 25.50.. He is the 2nd best ILB in the league, but SILB is less important than WLB and SLB in 3-4. Has stats in three years of starting are: 294 solo tackles, 94 assist, 8.5 sacks, 29 TFl, 1 block, 10 hurries 19 QKDB, 1 pick, 10 pasdef, 4 FF, 2 rec for scores. Not bad stuff, but do I want a 25 mill cap hit in my SILB spot? In year one? I could let him go and see if he wants to sign for less. The 3rd best ILB is 20.45 mil so that’s not wrong. I could just cap him and then use him as a proxy. Or I could draft a replacement. Or I could see if he wants less like Stutts. If not I could sign him then. This is a cap hit rise of more than 22 mill.

Also free rookies:

DE Meraz – 50/50 – cap hit of Wants 31.36 for 4 years, cap hit rise from 2.07 to 6.15

QB Higginbotham – Wants 3 years at 19.56 , cap hit rise from 1.91 to 5.41. I offer him in a trade, what do folks want? Arizona offers my 3.31 back, and my 5th for their comp 6th. I do it.

I have these coming free this year:

QB Fiste – Cap hit 65.19, Wants two year extension to increase to 70.79 and 121.55 cash. Rough. I cannot lose 5 mill of 18 free. I’ll let him go and resign in Day one.

RT Garza – 10th year, 62/62, cap hit of 14.85 wants 2 mill of 25.80 raising to 15.35

SS Spencer – 10th year, 58/58 cap hit of 13.65, wants two year deal of 29.71, a drop to 12.11

LG Planish – 9th year, 69/69, wants 2 years at 23.31 mills, a cap hit drop from 14.86 to 13.77.

SLB Howells – 65/65, 9th year, cap hit of 21.96 wants 2 years for 29.36 to drop to 18.19.

FL Pedraza – 52/52, 7th year, cap hit of 7.8, wants 3 years massive rise to 55.11 to cap hit of 17.33 nope

I extend Garza, Planish, Howells, Spener and resign LS Bryan and WILB Lenard. That leaves me cap of 27.94. Should I resign Hennessey or Petty? I have on my roster now 43. Would there be a better FS Than Hennessey for around 3.5 mill cap hit? I’m still waiting on a better than 43/43 FS. I have free 18 mill, I could grab some good one year FAs that are older and then keep cap free next year for Fiste/Keats. Or just extend Fiste and keep free 13 mill for FAs. I don’t wanna risk not being able to sign Fiste for cap, but also be cap appropriate. I extend DT Jean, but not Hennessey, I want to see if there are better for his cost. I have free 15 mill for FA

Day 2 – Let’s see who’s free!

FS:

Any cheap or am I offering Hennessey?

FS Octavio Robertson – 56/56, age 30, wants just 13.38, three years, cap hit of 3.9. The best FS out there.
FS Lewis Hershberger – 54/54, 5th year vet, wants 3 years of 13.79 for cap hit of 3.89.

I like Lewis loads, since he’s young. I offer him 4.5 mill cap hit

WR:

Should I bring in a replacement now WR for Pedraza and cut him? That would leave me 10.5 mill, or 5 if I wanna resign Fiste

WR Alvin Drury – 59/59 – age 28, wants 33.83 over 4 years cap hit of 6.500. Cheap. Younger, ideally a 6th year vet would be younger. I could offer him 7 mill and 3.5 left for extending Fiste in 2nd FA and be at around 8.5 mill.

WR Marquis Gillis – 55/55, year 6, age 27, wants 2 years at 14.17, cap hit of 6.33.

I prefer that Drury wants a longer term deal, but Gillis is cheaper cap hit, but still likely 7 mill offer.

I could offer Drury 7 mill cap hit, and then cut Pedraza for 5.99 free, so mostly pay for it, and 59/59 is better than 52/52.

CB:

Any good cheap FAs for nickelback for CB Cam? Or I could draft le Alton, Downs and Hull the last few years.

CB Conrad Doles - 6th year vet, 54/54, age 28, wants 3 years of 16.8 mill, so a cap hit this year of 4.85.

I could offer 5.5, and if he signs I’d have space to extend Fiste. Or I could just ignore and then try to draft nickel, just like the three mentioned above. He’s not good in picks, just 36. I offer him.

Will we sign Hershberger and Doles?

Day 10
– It looks like I made an offer to Drury. He accepted, I cut Pedraza. He comes in at 61/61, much better than we thought!!!

Day 13
– They sign! I have cap space of 14.15 mill. See you at the draft!!!

The 2039 NFL Amateur Draft:

I have open both 2 backup QB slots, starter FB since Kish fell, backup OG, starter LT for Parr, starter DE for Stutts or backup, stud DT since Rose dropped to 51/51, backup LB, backup CB, BAP since I don’t have a 1st round.

2nd Round – At the 1.31, FB 5.4 David Blake is undrafted. But this is probably too high for FB. My staff like FS Jude Helms, who is 5.0 and overrated, but looks good for here too.

I got a trade offer from the Chiefs for this pick. They’re offering their 3.21 and 2040 3rd and 2041 7th. Since this is my top draft spot, I wanna see who is free.

The top ones left are 6.7 ILB Renaldo McKibben who is very overrated and 6.2 hard to read ILB McMorris. McMorris is a stud, this is where I got SILB Keats. I can move him to WILB for Lenard or trade Keats.

3rd Round – Will Blake be on the board by 3.31? I doubt it, he’s a stud, in order to trade for 3.3 with Buffalo we need to offer our 3.31 and future 3rd. Done and drafted.

The 3.34 arrives. Who do I like? Is there a starter quality LT there? A good starter DE for Stutts? DT?

My staff here like OG Xavier Salsman who is 4.8 and very overrated.

DE Jude Shaaf, 5.9, underrated is left. He is the best on the board until 5.3. DT? The tops are all overrated.

QB Nolan Threatt is 5.8 and very underrated, I do need a backup. The next best is 5.4. He’s weak at accuracy, securing the ball and 2 minutes, but okay at everything else. Since he’s very underrated, I do it.

The 3.37 is here! My staff now like OG Winston Moreno, who is 4.8 and overrated. Schaaf still on the board but he’s not much of a pass rush specialist, I grab him.

4th Round
– The 4.31 is here! My staff still like OG, here Elliot Bhardwaj. He is 4.6 but overrated. What about CB? The best left is CB Sebastien Peppers with underrated at 4.7. Not great bars though. CB Corson at 4.6 also underrated strong at picks. DT Gabriel Kosowski is a pass rushing specialist DT< I grab him.

5th Round
– We traded 5.31 but have 5.40. My staff still like OG here but OG Griffin Ricci who is 4.6 and very overrated. No thanks. Is Corson on the board? Yes, I grab him.

6th Round
– Who do my staff like here? OG Christopher Ekuban, who is 4.5 and…underrated. I grab him,

7th Round
– My staff here like OLB Kenny Howard, 4.5, overrated. I like LB here, sure, but there is a very underrated 4.5 LB from WVU named Emmett Ferrier Itake instead.

The 2039 Carolina Panthers Draft:

2.31 –ILB Irving McMorris, Duke – 51/71
3.3 – FB Davis Blake, Wisconsin – 54/71
3.34 – QB Nolan Threatt, Notre Dame - 32/45
3.37 – DE Jude Schaaf, Utah - 36/48
4.31 – DT Gabriel Kosowski, Texas Tech – 31/39,
5.40- CB Hassan Corson, Michigan – 31/32;
6.39 – OG Christopher Ekuban, Oklahoma – 19/39
7.31 – SLB Emmett Ferrier, WVU - 25/39

McMorris great for there, but Hard to Read means he’s a gamble… but I think that’s worth it. Blake looks nasty, but is, again, Hard to Read. Very underrated Threatt and underrated Schaaf hopefully they’ll grow. Nobody deep with 50+ stuff just my top two in the 71 spot.

The 2039 NFL Preseason:

I have on my roster 59 at playbook deadline with the new balanced schema, hopefully our new RB will do well. Also a studly FB for the blocking! I cut Lenard and move to WiLB.

Week 1 – At Las Vegas – We are in the Hall of Fame match, we lose 13-20. No injuries

Week 3 – Jacksonville – We win 16-10. Low scorer. O injuries.

Week 4 – Tennessee – We win 20-10. No injuries

Rookie Lookie #2:

2.31 – ILB Irving McMorris, Duke – 51/71, 54/68
3.3 – FB Davis Blake, Wisconsin – 54/71, 59/65
3.34 – QB Nolan Threatt, Notre Dame - 32/45, 31/38
3.37 – DE Jude Schaaf, Utah - 36/48, 45/55
4.31 – DT Gabriel Kosowski, Texas Tech – 31/39, 31/37
5.40- CB Hassan Corson, Michigan – 31/32; 36/39
6.39 – OG Christopher Ekuban, Oklahoma – 19/39, 25/45
7.31 – SLB Emmett Ferrier, WVU - 25/39, 32/35

McMorris fell 3 pot, Blake 6, both hard to read, you get it, fall by very underrated Threatt, but large rise by Schaaf. Slight fall by Kosowski, rise by underrated Corson, rise by Ekuban, ouch by underrated Ferrier,

UFAs:

CB Arturo Dubuisson – 23/46, 25/38
OG JC Hopkins – 8/50, 12/43
QB Randall Winsor – 27/43, 31/46
RB Kenneth Ralston – 36/45, 35/42
FL Morris Sluder – 28/39, 27/37

Ouch by Arturo, Hopkins, rise by Winsor! Slight tumble by Ralston and Sluder

I need to cut 5:

WR Jensen
RG Dolezal
CB Bownes
TE Izzo
RB Ralston

Here’s my starters!!!

The 2039 Carolina Panther Starters:

There we go! Fiste dropped to 70/70 by 5, RB Hutchings rose to 66/66, TE Wellons to 57/57, Drury is 60/60, RT Garza dropped to 51/51, LT Parr to 42/42. Planish to 64/64, DE Suazo starting, along with Meraz, and DT Jean. SLB Howells dropped to 60/60, McMorris starting in WILB, CB Doles dropped to 47/47 and is nickel, SS Spencer down to 56/56. Jellison is slot, all of my stud special teamers and good backups are there.

Here's McMorris:

Here’s my top pick near the back of the 2nd. He’s currently 54/68. Stud in run and diagm special teams and okay at zone, physical, pass rush and bad at picks and stringent and man to man. Strong where taken!

Let’s turn to my trade to the top of the 3rd for FB.

A strong inside option with good strength, blitz pickup, route, run block and securing the ball. He’s okay in adjusting to the ball, hands, catch in traffic, pass block and bad at speed, hole recon,

Ready for the final season of the decade?
