WSOP Pool

Last year we had a WSOP pool for the main event, but I thought it would be more interesting if we did a pool for the entire event. Here's the idea:

1) You may pick 10 Poker players
2) To make it more interesting, you have to pick at least one female and one non-bracelet winner among your 10.
3) You will score one point for every $1,000 that player earns in an event. For example, last year, someone would have scored 5,000 points in the Main event if they had Greg Raymer.
4) Pick one player from your list as the person you think will win the WSOP. If you correctly pick this, then you are an automatic winner (and the highest pts person will be 2nd place).

We're starting a little late, so we'll have to skip the first couple events. The first even that will count is Event #4, the WSOP Limit Hold Em. Therefore, all picks must be in by Sunday noon which is when that tourney begins.

You can search for bracelet winners at - http://www.pokerpages.com/pokerinfo/...-winners01.htm

Reply here with your selections....

The main event should have a ridiculsouly large number of entrants this year.

Marcel Luske has not won a bracelet. I posted a link in the top post where you can search for bracelets winners. Also, you forgot to pick your Main Event winner prediction.

Event #4 is down to 15 people. Looks like everyone relevant has been eliminated. Those who had Hellmuth get 4.2 pts and those who had Duke get 10.135 (yes, I am gonna be that anal).

Event #5 is down to final table and none of our people appear to have made it this far.

Grinder 3.375 points.
Ivey 2.410 points.

Didn't see any of the other names in the money for this event.

Are there any worries about spoiling events for people who might read the thread up until the big game? Obviously the information is out there for people who want to find it ...

The people who have Esfandiari are gonna get some good pts out of this one. At least I had Juanda, and Duke in Event #4, so I'm off to a decent start.

Actually, I shouldn't have cut it off. Instead, anyone can go ahead and make your picks, but you can't score pts for any tourney that started before you made your picks.

Event #8 (7 Card Stud):

Chris Ferguson 2.610

No one else we picked is still left.

For those of you who still want to participate, the points scored so far are pretty miniscule. As the fields and buy ins both get larger, more pts will be scored. These early events probably won't matter so much in the long run in regards to who wins the contest.

The 2K no-limit hold-em event is down to 49 and has a bunch of our players in it.

Violette 2nd in chips with 133k
Giang 77,900
Seidel 60,800
Grinder 60,000
Luske 35,500

Other name guys in contention are Demetriou, Joe Awada, Dutch Boyd, John Bonetti, and David Plastik.

I don't think anyone has any of the roughly 100 people who have already cashed.

Well, since you invited me, I'll accept the challenge. I picked mostly favorites, folks who have seemed hot lately, and people who figure to participate in a lot of events. Sorry I'm so unoriginal. Don't take any of this seriously:

WOMAN - Kathy Liebert
NON-BRACELET WINNER - Marcel Luske
YOUR 2005 WSOP MAIN EVENT WINNER (ha!) - Humberto Brenes
THE OTHER GUYS - Phil Hellmuth, Scott Fischman, Chris Ferguson, Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu, Dan Harrington, Gus Hansen
