I've seen the match before. This was actually Combat Toyota's retirement match. Some of the bumps there are just in-freaking-sane.. i would mention more about it, but I don't want to spoil the match.

So, how does the ref know to turn his head quickly in all the earlier counts that don't end the match, but watches til the end on the last one?

Let me guess, it's from the FMW DVD series. yes, they took a hackjaw to it. It's better with the Japanese announcers, even though you don't know a word of what they're saying.

They're pretty much free agents, so no.
If you want to see the hell tat they go through even to be minor wrestlers, rent a documentary called GAEA Girls. They get put through a torture regimen of physical fitness that most MALE athletes would fail. It used to be that they were forced to retire at the age of 30 as well. Not because of medical reasons.. because they were considered too OLD.

I'm glad to see that the secretary from the Drew Carey Show is keeping active.

I remember one Japanese female tag team that wrestled briefly in WWF, I think the Jumping Bomb Angels. My god those girls could fly around. But that was so long ago, I'm not sure they were just impressive for the time or as good as I remember.

Ya, they wouldn't be anything special today, but by comparsion with what the men were doing in 1988 WWF, they were pretty insane (doing variations of powerbombs when the regular powerbomb hadn't even been debuted on American television until about 3 years later). |
