Hows everybody doing with the draft list?

I had a lot of fun doing this one. Ended up putting 54 guys on the list and on more than a few spots I keep going back and forth with who I want where.

Yeah, I was back and forth a lot with this one too! I think it won't matter as much because I'm last to pick, but I wasn't quite sure what to make of a lot of the guys...though I ended up with less than 40 on my list.

For me there is a clear cut #1.
SP Jamie Sanchez
Sure he is 23, but he'll start in AA as his ratings are pretty decent. With potentials like his, and the lack of SP lately, you have to go for the big arm!

I'm with Eric on this one. Same guy, same reasoning.

I have him at #1 for the sole reason of there not being any young SP'S out there, however him being 23 scares the shit out of me.

If you miss out on a number 1 draft pick, your screwed, case in point dave tomlin who i just cut, however you miss out on the number 1 overall, and your just royally screwed.

I need to run to the bank real quickly and the store. I'll start this up as soon as I get back. Probably about 45 minutes or so.

I got 2 big league type starting pitchers with good intangibles and 3 used car salesmen. My 1st round SP is Japanese, so that's a bonus.

And Quero re-signed for 2 years. Campy, 43 at the start of next season, was simply brilliant in mop up work last season with a 4.27 ERA and 1 glorious victory. I thought about letting him leave and retire in the offseason but I didn't want to risk one of you SOB's signing him.

Also, next season marks a decade since our last perfect game. Campy threw the last one on 7/8/2020 against Edmonton, compiling 14 K's in the process. Cipriano Valdez also threw a perfect game that season for Hammersmith, but it was in May.

On the salary page I show $58mil in salary for this year, but I am only allowed to offer another $500 in contracts. I appear to be in the black with my finances, (a modest $900,000 in cash) so I do not know why my budget is restricted.
Does anyone have any idea?

Did you cut someone? Sometimes I cut a player and it shows I have room to spend but the game won't let me.

Yeah, your total expenses to date are showing 12.7 Mil. I think that has something to do with it.

By the way, I'm not saying you did or didn't cut someone as I can't see it in your transaction log, but the expenses are there like someone was cut.

After the addition of Jorge Martinez the game says Tokyo has the #1 rotation. I'm not buying it until after the season.

Cutting players was my first thought. But I haven't cut anyone since I cut two players (Arturo Hernendez and Marc Gill) before the playoffs last season...so they should have been on last years expenses.

Marc Gill and Arturo Hernandez were both cut on 10/14 according to the game. That is where your player expenses came from. They also played for you in the playoffs, so I am pretty sure you cut them at the post-playoff stage

Ahhh that's right...Post playoff but before the season flip...It was FOOL-X that I made pre-playoff cuts. Got it!
Thanks for looking into it!

Take care of Martinez for me! (and tell him we miss him and love him, and make sure you feed him three meals a day, and don't let him forget his vitamin...I swear he'd forget his own head if it wasn't attached to his body)

I will. He was expensive but he shouldn't be too much of a financial burden while I have some young guys keeping my costs down. After losing out on Archuleta (he could have pushed us over the top last year) I didn't want to lose out on one of the SP's that were available.

Good luck with Antonio Gonzalez!
