Move the Trading Block?

I'd asked DC if he'd considered moving the trading block to the trades section, for consistency's sake. He said he had, but wasn't sure if people would use it as much if it were there, so it might be better in the main forum for visibility.

A poll was suggested, so I'm posting one. Do we want to see the trading block here for immediate access, or in the trade forum with the rest of the trades?

I like it on the front page. I forget to hit the trades sub forum sometimes.

Same thing.. I think the trade block gets ignored or missed too much as it is. It should be on the main page in big green neon flashing lights!

Can we sticky threads? It should really be pinned to the top. That, and the current season/postseason/offseason thread

Hah, alright. Looks like I'm in the minority!

Stickying it does seem like a good idea.

Stickying it is good with me, I had voted own subforum before reading that idea.

I prefer to have my own thread rather than one thread for everybody, but stickied will be great.

Maybe you are onto something here?

Maybe instead of one big thread for everyone, now that we have a trades subforum, why not each team create their own trade block and just keep it in the trade forum?

Maybe kaos had it right after all?

I like that idea, it'd be more expedient for us as we can just bump our own block each time and it'd be easier than post on here. Plus, it'd be in the trade forum, so as not to clutter up stuff here.

Thoughts?

Not sure that the seperate thread idea is necessarily easier for me, but might just be my situation. I have a horrible time with FOFC remembering correctly where I have and haven't read, and often end up with issues here not being able to view threads at all that forces me to delete my cookies for this site.. So having things visible and up front helps me make sure I don't miss things. If we scatter things too many places, I am sure that I will miss stuff.

Hrm

That could be interesting. Also kinda historical on a team by team basis, which might be interesting to go and look at in the future. Still though, I hate a sub forum format because I always forget to check.

Instead of that, why don't we have a single stickied thread at the top, that we each have a post to put our own block in, and we can go in and edit our posts accordingly? The thread would have a post for each team.

I guess one drawback to that is if someone leaves, then their post is still there.

Well the problem with that is, you can't bump it when you have new people to be acquired. That's all. So people are always fighting to get to the top and I know I won't usually think to look unless someone bumps it.

How about having people delete their old post before they make a new post in the thread with the rule that for a new post, there must be a new player added to the block.

I know this might sound a little too complicated for what we're trying to do, but I get lost in the Trade Block post myself.

I know I already do delete my last post in the trade block before posting a new one.

I think the solution might be to go back to the way we used to do it. A new trade block for each season.

I think that might be the best solution, and have everyone delete their last post in their as well (or at least strongly suggest it )
