Is it weird...

... that I'm actually looking forward to the day some of my players retire so I can induct someone to my Wall of Fame?

I've contemplated inducting them early.

Whats the fun in that??

I've thought at times that I do it too fast and should wait like 5 years after they are out of the league before I do it. Kind of like a refresher on a player...

Like I bet the majority of owners in this league don't even understand who Bryan Hughes was or how great he really was. He'll never be in the leaderbooks, but he was one of the early greats.

Not a bad idea, but then it might turn into a Wall of Players Who Were Really Good For A Couple Of Years But Then Fizzled Out And Retired In Shame.

And that doesn't have the same ring.

That, alone, is worthy of respect.

I know who is. But then, I was around he was just a youngerster, when you FOOL whipper snappers were still playing long sim OOTP leagues.

Technically he never was a youngster in this league! The first year of FOOL, he was already 27 and past his prime based on the old player development. Thanks to modern medicine (*cough steroids*) players now a days last well into their 30s in some cases!

Remember when a player would hit 27 or 28 and suddenly not be able to play anymore?

OMG.

I hated those days. It was such a strange time. Back when we thought Spindola would be a 28-year old washout. Glad those days are over.

Another interesting throwback is, back in the old days of FOOL -- the first two years, I think -- we played with injuries off AND with no fatigue. So back then, the tactic was to develop a team that was comprised of the best 25 guys you could find, period. Adding fatigue has been a very good addition, obviously.
