2017 NCAA Pick 5 contest; we have a winner!

Rules

You pick five teams from this year's NCAA Tournament field. Points are awarded based on how far each of your teams advance, with bonus points given based on the team's seed. You get one point for winning in the First round, 2 for the Second Round, 3 for the regional semis, 4 for the regional finals, 5 for the national semifinal, and 6 for the national championship. Then, for each game your team wins, you get points that match the number of seed they are.

For example, say you picked Kansas (a No. 1 seed), and they advanced to the Final Four. You would get: (1+1) + (2+1) + (3+1) + (4+1) = 14 points for selecting the Jayhawks. Or, if you pick 14 seed Kent St., and they win 2 games, they would earn you (14+1) + (14+2) = 31 points.

As you can see, a well placed 10+ seeded team notching an upset or two is just as valuable as a 1 or 2 seed going to the Final 4.

First Four games do not count towards any point totals.

Last year, all players were eliminated prior to the final game, and duckman took it down with a relatively easy 22 point margin of victory over 2nd place jbergey22.

Syracuse was the big team last year, netting 50 points for their Final 4 run out of the 10 seed slot.

We'll see who it is this year... surely the trendy pick will be Wichita State.

Sorry, I was out of town basically Thursday night of the Sweet 16 on. We only have one player with a team left, that is Ryche with Gonzaga... and he can only win 7 additional points with a Zags win tonight, so the game is over.

Hoopsguy finally lives up to his moniker and wins! It was a tight one over Arles... an Oregon win on Saturday would've flipped it to Arles.

Xavier was the team to have this year, as the top-3 all gained 39 points by picking the Musketeers.

hoopsguy was able to parlay X's Elite 8 run with correctly picking 3 first round upsets and WV's run to the Sweet 16. Not a gaudy point total as we've seen in years past, but it works.
