After just seeing the title, I thought it was a quote from the Orgazmo credits song.

Not drunk and didn't get dumped, but O Brother was on and that song is just so darn catchy, and that movie is sweet.

I liked o'brother, but it was hard to watch because the difference in actinb ability between the lead three roles was so jarring. hint: clooney does not belong.

I thought Clooney was quite good in his role in O Brother.

I thought this was going to be about Billy Joel, but then I saw that Shorty wasn't so innocent.

He did okay, imho, but I agree that the other actors (Goodman, Turturro, Nelson) were in an entirely different league than Clooney.

O Brother is only my fifth-favorite Coen Brothers' Film, after Fargo, Blood Simple, Miller's Crossing, and Raising Arizona.

Nope. Clooney is a very good, and underrated actor. He played his role perfectly. There is nothing more that he could have done with his character.

That's my view as well. The film would have suffered badly without Clooney.

Having said that, I think Goodman is unmatched. I'm sure he has a bad movie somewhere, but I've never seen it.

I think Clooney found the perfect note for his character. He was terrific in this. One of my favorite Coen bros. films.

Which is Goodman's greatest performance? I would vote for Barton Fink.

I can see someone saying Turturro over Clooney... but Goodman? You have to be kidding me. Clooney is great and Goodman has one of the weakest characters in the movie

I liked this movie. Clooney was good for that role, but he didn't really have to stretch at all. I felt that Nelson did a hell of a job in this movie with Turturro a close second. The only thing that went well for Clooney is how he delivered the memorable quotes, but the character is pretty much him.

I am gonna bump this. Just watched Barton Fink. I have to agree with you. Goodman was outstanding. I can't believe that this movie slipped below my radar as long as it did.

O' Brother is right in the wheelhouse of movies I'd typically like, but I just didn't for some reason and have had no urge to try again.

Probably should though.

BTW, Miller's Crossing is an insanely underrated movie.

If we're discussing underrated Coen movies I would proffer The Man Who Wasn't There.
