50+ car pileup on I-94 in Michigan

Highway is shut down due to the accident which includes one truck with hazardous material on board, another one with fireworks...that started exploding after the accident. Wind Chill is -3 degrees, low visibility and some snow falling.

Hope none of our FOFC Michigan people were involved or got stuck in the resulting traffic jam:

I've driven that before. Can get real windy and with the lake effect snow makes driving a huge pain in the ass.

I have been travelling from Chicago to Detroit and back the last few months and that corridor is insane as far as winds and lake effect snow. I have driven that exact same spot many times... as recently as Wednesday night when there were snow showers. Crazy conditions no doubt. My thoughts are with those in the accident.

Like most, I've driven that stretch of road countless times. I really try to avoid it during the winter months because of crap like that.

I hate driving in snow. Hell, I worked from home today to avoid the 1+ hour long commute and it wasn't even that bad.
